Death

His death was announced on September 6th, but it states on his home page he died on september 2nd. The article contains both. The date needs to be confirmed and fixed.

definately september 2nd according to the copy of his death certificate Nestene68 (talk) 13:11, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For Those Who Think Young links to an album, not a 1964 movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.216.26.211 (talk) 20:39, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Willy?

I removed "(Willy Gilligan)" again, as this is not canon per this research: [1] and per IMDb. The name Gilligan was ambiguous. --Greg Ubben, 30 Sep 2005

disputed

I would like to argue that the entry of the category saying he died from complications of surgery should be removed. he did not die from complications from surgery. They discovered lung cancer in the process of treating a cardio-cascular problem, but the lung cancer killed him, or specifically a side effect of the cancer, namely pneumonia.

Gilligone

I just heard of his death and on checking the article was surprised to see he had died on 2nd September.

I also removed a witty, but inappropriate line on the main page, saying "He is gilligone." Yes he is, and we all miss a sweet character, but not in the article, please! --Jumbo 20:19, 6 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I added some quotes by Bob Denver. They show what a good natured soul he truly was. Thanks for the laughter Lil Buddy :(--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 11:07, 7 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Cause of Death

Could someone elaborate on what he actually died from? Most articles just say cancer (not what kind or of what organ, etc..), but several articles also mention that Denver died due to complications of cancer treatment, nothing very specific.

I changed this. Now it says he died of complications from treatment for cancer. Many news articles say this is what happed.

Hi. It is erroneous to list Bob Denver as having died from 'complications from surgery' as this article does. The death certificate indicates that he died from Pneumonia which was itself a result of a lung tumour. So, his death should be described as pneumonia as a complication of lung cancer. The death certificate also notes that he had a history of smoking and also had heart disaease (ie cardio-vascular disease, but this was not the cause of death). Why is the cast of Gilligan's Island listed on the page for Bob Denver? Should this not be moved only to the Gilligan's Island page? This is like listing the cast of the early Batman series on Adam West's homepage...

I tend to agree, although the cast is also listed on all the other castmember's bios too. But yes it does seem inappropriate here, as though they are only significant because of Gilligan's Island. Theshibboleth 10:40, 7 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Gay Icon Project

In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 20:14, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Where's Gilligan?

Why is there almost nothing in the article about his role in Gilligan's island? Meanwhile, there's a huge paragraph on the marijuana charge. There's definitely some bias going on there.BashBrannigan (talk) 00:05, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
