This is a list of the best-selling Latin albums in the United States based on RIAA certification. Starting in 2000, the RIAA launched the Los Premios de Oro y Platino certification for Spanish-language albums in the United States.[1] The original criteria for certification was that the album must have shipped at least 100,000 units for gold and 200,000 units for platinum, with multi-platinum awarded for multiples of 200,000. An album must have at least 50% Spanish-language content to be considered.[1] In 2008, the required units of shipments were lowered, requiring 50,000 for gold, 100,000 for platinum and 200,000 or more for multi-platinum.[2] Albums are listed in order of certification (highest to lowest). This list contains any type of album in Spanish, including studio, greatest hits, compilation, live albums, various artists, and remix.
