non-free image in userspace
Hi, in your userspace draft in User:Spy007au/Sandbox5]] you re-included an image here. Non-free images are only allowed to be used in mainspace articles, they can not be used in userspace drafts (or anywhere outside of mainspace). See WP:NFCC#9 for more info. May I ask you to remove the image while you are still working on it in your userspace, and re-insert it when it has moved to mainspace? Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:21, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Long_Gone_Movie.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Long_Gone_Movie.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 05:39, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
DYK for Long Gone (film)
On 14 July 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Long Gone (film), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the 1987 baseball film Long Gone, starring William Petersen, has been described as "three parts Bull Durham, two parts Slap Shot, add a dose of Bingo Long and a pinch of The Longest Yard"? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

File permission problem with File:Phil Lamason Interview.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Phil Lamason Interview.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T/C) 23:48, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- I have subitted an email reply and the image is now "OTRS pending". Spy007au (talk) 06:22, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Added name
Thanks for adding Alfred Balachowsk's name to the Stéphane Hessel article. However, did you check the ref to make sure it was in there? If not, that needs to be fixed. Since you can't fix the ref, the sentence needs to be adjusted (doesn't it?), perhaps by finding an additional ref with his name mentioned. Thanks! Marrante (talk) 07:48, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for picking that up - I have added a reliable reference. Cheers, Spy007au (talk) 08:47, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

KLB Club
I apologize for contacting you this way but I was unsure of how to reach you. I am hoping to get some information from you regarding the KLB Club. My grandfather was a member but didn't talk about it much and now that he has passed I would very much like to get more information. If you can help me or point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. If this is not the forum for this then again, I apologize. I am new to Wikipedia. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.171.132.46 (talk) 22:53, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
- Happy to help. What information are you after? I own several books related to the KLB Club and also own 2 very good documentary films (DVD's). I have also met Phil Lamason, the senior officer at Buchenwald and spoke extensively with his son recently. If you could let me know exactly what you are after, I'll try and help in any way I can. File source problem with File:The sinking of the Steamship Ville du Havre.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:The sinking of the Steamship Ville du Havre.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Finavon (talk) 11:09, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

KLB Club
Thank you so much for responding. I would appreciate any and all information you are willing to share. I have to tell you that I don't know much and am completely obsessed with getting answers and information specifically pertaining to my grandfather but also about the story as a whole. Is this the best way for us to communicate? I am hesitant to include any personal info (as I told you, I am new to Wikipedia). If you could advise me as to the best way for us to communicate I would be grateful. Thank you. I am so excited to move forward. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.171.132.46 (talk) 20:33, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

The clipper Brabloch
The clipper was part of the Loch Line...according to James Lilburn snr it was the last ship added to the fleet and by far the largest 3 masted ship built for its time — Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.90.227.160 (talk) 07:56, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- I will stand corrected, but can you send me a reliable source or reference for that? Thanks, Spy007au (talk) 10:53, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

- Thanks for that. I have done some further research and you are in deed correct, so I will stand corrected. The interesting issue here is that in all my research, it states there were only 25 ships in the Lock Line fleet. If that is correct, we now have 26 ships in the list - so one of the other ships should not belong there? More reading and research to do. Appreciate your help.
