Wrong year: new section

:Nice catch! One might also question the phrase "French Huguenots"—as if there's another kind of Hugenot? Since I was unable to verify whether the ''Mirror'' (not the most reliable of sources) got it wrong or reported accurately what was said on the program, I've been bold and removed the offending sentence. Honestly, how helpful to understanding Mr. Depp is it to know that he might have Huguenot ancestry 20 generations back? I was tempted to remove the next bit, too, because I think all this genealogy stuff rather interferes with the logical flow of the section, but wasn't feeling quite ''that'' bold. == Wrong year ==

Someone has put the wrong year in reference to Johnny on 'The Brooklyn Shuffle' on the Steve Hunter 'The Manhattan Blues Project', it should read 2013 not 2012.

Revision as of 01:48, 18 May 2013

Concise rephrasing with better wording, less bias, and better source

In the section titled Future Roles, it states "Depp was going to star as Tonto in 2013's Lone Ranger film, but the project had been shelved because of budgetary concerns, as well as a lackluster response to the 2012 science-fiction Western Cowboys & Aliens.[36] The project was revived and the film will be released on May 31, 2013.[37] "

The article source is a Philly.com blog [36] Better source would be EW.com stating the halt, article below: http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/08/13/disney-halts-johnny-depp-lone-ranger/ Reference attached: [1]

And here is an article citing the start of filming after the problems were fixed: http://www.deadline.com/2011/10/the-lone-ranger-saddling-up-with-johnny-depp-and-a-tighter-budget/ Reference attached: [2]

Both of these were used in citing "The Lone Ranger" wiki.

Would like to fix past tense in first sentence, as he is starring and rephrase to make it more concise, and less biased.

"Depp will star as Tonto in 2013's Lone Ranger film, produced by Disney. Budgetary concerns and critical response to the 2012 science-fiction Western Cowboys & Aliens delayed production.[3] Film production resumed after budget cuts and began filming in February 2012[4]. The film will be released on May 31, 2013." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.169.167.228 (talk) 09:08, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Patron's activities of Johnny Depp

Hello, I noticed a small gap in this very good biography, which can be easely filled ! There is no mention of the Patron's activities of Johnny Depp.

For example, to promote the work of his friend, the French painter Thierry Alonso Gravleur,
he set up two exhibition at the Trigg Ison Galery in LA.

I think it will be interresting to insert this in " Other interests ".

Newsarticle of the famous French newspaper "Le Monde" about the friendship and collaboration of painter Gravleur and actor Depp. Template:Fr http://www.lemonde.fr/culture/portfolio/2009/11/23/les-portraits-expressionnistes-de-thierry-alonso-gravleur_1269468_3246.html%7C

Thank you ! ( excuse me for the mistakes... I'm French ! )

Your link to the article in Le Monde doesn't work. Do you know if a similar page is still available? Rivertorch (talk) 05:37, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I hope this one is working ! Of it doesn't, just search on google the following words : les portraits expressionistes de thierry Alonso gravleur. I'm not used to html language ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MPTLJC (talkcontribs) 13:27, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: I'm not persuaded that this is noteworthy enough to warrant inclusion. More—and better—sources would be nice (e.g., a link to an archive of the Le Monde article). Please feel free to reopen this request if you'd like a second opinion. Thank you for your effort to improve the article. Rivertorch (talk) 05:59, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Music Activities to be added

In other interests section,Depp's musical collaborations with Vanessa Paradis can be mentioned. He was credited for 2 tracks on the album Bliss,as well as being credited for the cover painting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bliss_(Vanessa_Paradis_album)

He was credited for the cover art of the album Divinidylle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divinidylle

He's been credited as composer on Paradis's latest album,Love Songs: http://www.entertainmentwise.com/news/110897/Johnny-Depp-And-Vanessa-Paradis-Back-Together

Depp returned to the recording studio, co-writing two tracks with Paradis and playing guitar on one track of her 2000 release Bliss. He also directed music videos for the singles Que Fait la Vie? and Pourtant.(paragraph 13): http://movies.yahoo.com/person/johnny-depp/biography.html

Another music activity that can be added: On the DVD director commentary, Robert Rodriguez states that he requested that each of the main actors give him four or eight notes of a melody for their character, but Depp presented him with the entire track. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Once_Upon_a_Time_in_Mexico — Preceding unsigned comment added by Golta (talkcontribs) 17:28, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New Relationship Added?

We don't have official confirmation for the new relationship added. We may never have more info about it,how are we going to base it on facts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Golta (talkcontribs) 13:19, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

14th Century Protestants???

In the article it claims Depp is a descendant of "14th Century French Huguenots living in England". Which is impossible since Protestant faiths did not come to be until the early 16th century (roughly 1519 onward). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.234.74.219 (talk) 05:51, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
