The theme of the game will be about people discontent with their boring lives and who feel chained down to a world they do not want to be a part of, desiring freedom. This is supported in the game's tagline: "You are a slave. Want emancipation?".<ref>{{cite web|title=Persona 5's Freedom Theme|url=http://www.siliconera.com/2014/02/05/persona-5-aimed-people-discontent-lives/|accessdate=11 February 2014}}</ref>

Persona 5 (ペルソナ5, Perusona Faibu) is the upcoming fifth video game in the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series of role-playing video games developed by Atlus, which is part of the larger Megami Tensei series of video games. Persona 5 is scheduled for a "2014 Winter" release in Japan and in 2015 for North America, exclusively for PlayStation 3.[1]

Development

Persona 5 was announced alongside Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, a PlayStation 3 port of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Persona 4: Dancing All Night on November 24, 2013 during an Atlus event in Japan.[2] Although very little information is known about the game, it has been confirmed the game will take place in a school setting, following the previous games in the series.[3]

The theme of the game will be about people discontent with their boring lives and who feel chained down to a world they do not want to be a part of, desiring freedom. This is supported in the game's tagline: "You are slave. Want emancipation?".[4]

On February 25, 2014 it was announced that Persona 5 will be released in North America in 2015.[5]
