Last time I checked you don't use "of Somewhere" surnames as solitary identifiers even with context established. This is simply because "of New York" or "of Paris" or "of Damme" doesn't identify the family in question, let alone the person in context. It's disrespectful in a way. Van Damme as a solitary surname

Last time I checked you don't use "of Somewhere" surnames as solitary identifiers even with context established. This is simply because "of New York" or "of Paris" or "of Damme" doesn't identify the family in question, let alone the person in context.
