: Feel free to include it... Nobody has got around to it, probably. But having said that, you did request this in 2010, so if it hasn't been done 4 years later, then probably..... : It basically means that there are a whole lot of people winning competitions in Australia who are coming from Hillsong. So hmm... the media wonders, this must be because Hillsong Church is asking all their members to vote for each other, and with several thousand going to the church, they are always going to be winning! The same thing could be said about Christians generally supporting a Christian contestant, Muslims supporting a Muslim contestant, what should I say?? Sources

I reverted the deletion of two sources.[1] Both appear to be reliable, secondary sources. Copies of both are hosted by what appear to be self-published sites. If they do not have permission to host copyrighted materials then we shouldn't link to those copies. However links are not necessary in references. A proper citation, with the name of the publication, the article name, and the publication date, is sufficient for verification purposes.   Will Beback  talk  17:11, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unless the original articles can be linked to, we should not include text from them in the article or the footnotes, as they are not verified and could have been altered by the self-published sites.--Lyonscc (talk) 18:23, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The text can be verified in a library or by visiting the publishers' website. WP:V does not require a live hyperlink to the source. Is there any reason to doubt that the copies posted are true to their ultimate sources? The BRW article, which is in a PDF at the link, appears to be an official copy.   Will Beback  talk  18:26, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Statement about the finances of Hillsong Church and the Houston family

Based on the discussions on the finances of the Houston family, and Hillsong Church, Pastor Brian Houston gave a statement on the church website. Could you please add this note under the financial controversy. Link to the letter PtoX (talk) 13:41, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What's the reason for deleting all of this material?[2]   Will Beback  talk  00:18, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

vandalism?

Someone want to check the last posting for bias ? I am not sure as to the credentials required for an entry on a church. --RichardMills65 (talk) 23:56, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

vote stacking?

It basically means that there are a whole lot of people winning competitions in Australia who are coming from Hillsong. So hmm... the media wonders, this must be because Hillsong Church is asking all their members to vote for each other, and with several thousand going to the church, they are always going to be winning! The same thing could be said about Christians generally supporting a Christian contestant, Muslims supporting a Muslim contestant, what should I say?? 110.33.120.196 (talk) 11:25, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

Support I support merging several articles into this one due to lack of notability (poor or unreferenced). Widefox; talk 11:12, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Selena Gomez "hearts" Hillsong

This article on respectable Christian Journal "ChristianityToday.com" (http://www.christiantoday.com/article/selena.gomez.back.at.church.hearts.hillsong/41976.htm) indicates that Selena Gomez "hearts" Hillsong, and took part in the Hillsong LA service. In the image where she showed a picture of Hillsong LA Ps Reed Bogard, she shout out to Ashley Cook and Vanessa Hudgens. 110.33.120.196 (talk) 11:02, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It states that she "appeared to have taken part". This is speculative. Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:34, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Feminization" of church service

I haven't looked into the literature regarding this topic, but William Lane Craig recently answered a highly critical question regarding "Feminization" of churches. Now Hillsong is famous for its focus on music, and inasmuch, may be relevant for inclusion as a reference. Here is the link (http://www.reasonablefaith.org/the-feminization-of-christianity). Probably a link to the National Church Life Survey would also help to confirm whether Lane Craig is correct - i.e. the church IS shifting to a female demographic. Of course Lane Craig's purpose is to argue that the church should have a shift back to Apologetics so that it can draw more men into churches, but nonetheless it may be relevant in terms of referencing for the Hillsong article, particularly relating to the music it plays - i.e. as Lane Craig humerously quotes, "Someone aptly remarked that if you were to replace references to God in many praise songs with 'Baby,' they would sound just like romantic songs between a man and a woman" 110.33.120.196 (talk) 11:07, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
