Star vs. the Forces of Evil is an upcoming American animated television comedy produced by Disney Television Animation for Disney Channel [2] and Disney XD.[2][3] The series is set to air on Disney XD as a sneak preview on November 26, 2014[4], while the show will officially premiere in 2015.[2] The first images were shown in the Mercury Filmworks 2014 Demo Reel.[5]
The show was created by Daron Nefcy (former storyboard revisionist for Wander Over Yonder and Robot and Monster), who is the first woman to create an animated series for Disney Channel, and also the first woman to create a Disney XD series.[2] Dave Wasson will serve as director and Jordana Arkin as story editor, while both will also co-executive produce the series.
Plot
After having skirmished with a number of dangerous monsters, Star Butterfly arrives on Earth to live with the Diaz family. However, rather than living a normal life, Star, with Marco Diaz, continues to battle villains throughout the universe and in their high school, mainly to protect her extremely powerful wand, an object that still confuses her.
Cast and characters
- Star Butterfly (voiced by Eden Sher), a magic teenage princess who is sent to Earth to live with the Diaz family as her parents.[6]
- Marco Diaz (voiced by Adam McArthur), the teenage son of the Diaz family. When Star arrives on Earth, she takes him on adventures to fight evil villains.[6]
