Please consult this source, ([[WP:NOT#CBALL|Wikipedia is not a Crystal Ball]]) before changing the "Succeeded by" sections of the article. This is the official position of wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, predicting what will happen in the future. As the Senator is still in office, the article should be left as it is. == Political party ==

I'm not sure about the rules about this, so I'll just say where I perceive an error and allow someone else to make the change:

The sidebar lists Dayton as belonging to the Democratic Party, but that's not quite correct. His party is the [[Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party]], which is *affiliated* with the Democratic Party. Shouldn't that be what's listed?

Jay Rockefeller

Can anyone explain how he and Jay Rockefeller are brothers-in-law? The article says Dayton is not married. . . so he's not married to Rockefeller's sister or anything like that. The Rockefeller article says that his wife is Sharon Percy, the daughter of former US Senator Charles Percy. Doesn't seem like she and Dayton would be siblings. Dayton's ex-wife, Alida Rockefeller Messinger, is Jay Rockefeller's sister. There probably should be some mention of her in the article. -- Jake 23:57, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the clarification. I have updated the article accordingly. TMS63112 01:09, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It is important to state the current state of events, not what will happen soon. As such, the Senator is still in office, and has not been succeeded yet. Stealthound 20:58, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
