Hello Amaury: It's curious to me that my little paragraph is being deleted for lack of sourcing, but the paragraph immediately preceding it is not. Why is this? I will undo your delete and provide a source. Thank you.

Welcome to my talk page!

I have a few requests that I hope you'll respect while posting here:

  4. Start new discussions with a level three heading.
  5. I generally like to keep discussions together. If you post here, I'll reply here and leave you a message informing you of my reply. If I leave you a message on your talk page, I'll keep watching it, but if you want to make sure I notice it quickly, please feel free to tag me by typing {{re|Amaury}} before your main message.

There is a problem with COI and inappropriately marking edits as minor, but I see nothing that could be considered vandalism. If you disagree, please address this issue at User talk:JudithFisherFreed. Thanks. Sundayclose (talk) 01:54, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Amaury, don't worry man, no need to edit-war on a vandals own talk page. He's just getting off on the attention since that's all he's able to do now.

Moosehadley 03:36, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting obvious vandalism is exempt from WP:3RR. Repeated personal attacks count as vandalism. The user has now been hard blocked and cannot edit their talk page, in any case. - Amaury (talk) 03:42, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is this source reliable?

Hi, I need your help. I want to add some information on Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University.

I wanted to know that whether this source is considered reliable or not. [1]

Even though website name is Brahma Kumaris, it is not run by the organisation. This website is not associated with the organisation so it is 3rd party source.

I am new to wikipedia. You have lot of experience. I want to know can that source be added as reference?

I will only take information in home page NOT from threads.

Ghostwriters

New here to Wikipedia editing -- could not find a tab to start a new thread on this Talk: Amaury page, so I am placing this here:

re GHOSTWRITER page:

I did a great deal of work on this page today -- only to later discover 2 changes by Fresh Sullivan and Amaury, and their comments in TALK.

1) No humor was intended. Please clarify what was interpreted as humor. (Fresh Sullivan))

2) Nor was any edit by me considered non-constructive or vandalism. (Amaury) I am new here but can see from a few links that vandalism is a common charge. Please clarify this in relation to what I did today on this page -- unless this was a mistake.

From my point of view, I took this very rough article and remolded it into what I felt was useful, even vital, in an understanding of this business. I kept whatever I could of what was there and tried to work with it. I spent hours on this work, today.

I am a professional ghostwriter. An outsider (non-ghostwriter) cannot comment fully on this business. It is a complex business, and hardly understood by those not in it for a serious long while; nor by those who act merely as middlemen and do not also write; nor by those who perhaps did not have several decades in other aspects of publishing in order to understand the business globally, as I do, and how ghosting fits into the matrix of publishing.

As far as I could tell -- one objection made by Amaury was to making a paragraph that had been taking almost verbatim from the Manhattan Literary website into a quote, attributed to that co. I am new here as a Wikipedia editor and perhaps there is a rule I overlooked. Better to quote it, I thought, and note the source.

Where was the joke? (There is also such a thing as insightful humor; or jokes can be a mere byproduct of a good point.) Maybe this criticism was made in relation to someone else using an IP address confused as mine.

Please clarify. Ghostwriting is my profession and a big part of my life, so I take this seriously. This page was in dire need of help, and I don't wish to be alienated so early in my editing experience.

I am certainly willing to learn rules here -- again, I am new to this. But to do so much work and have people ready to attack it (NB: reverting to what I myself did -- the reversion is to what I wrote, not someone else) and not add anything substantial??? I know this is the nature of the deal here, that anyone can edit -- but please be clear.- Mariwiki77

No worries, we well-intended users are born to: 1 - get along well; 2 - work for the good of the project. Mission accomplished here, don't be afraid to revert me when I incur in a mistake (which I have/will have).

Occold

Hi there, I am the person who edited the page on the village of Occold.Unfortunately there was not much to go on with the history of the village, so I had to put a past residents extract on so there was a brief history of the village on the page. The extract is from http://historyofsuffolk.co.uk/Occold/index1865.shtml. The other information is general knowledge, e.g. I know the dialling code and postal town. All the information I have stated is completely correct, so if possible can you undo your edit. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.4.76.117 (talk) 20:45, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I do not understand why all these warnings

I've edited the article (Jalil Hanoon) and then asked for me to add sources and I do, why all of these warnings and threats? ميناء (talk) 21:21, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Hello. Thanks for this edit. The user is not understanding what I'm saying and is just mad that it can't be listed like that in the Today Show article. I'm not sure how to get it across this editor, and as I told him/her, I might take it to a noticeboard. I'm done reverting for now as I don't want that to cause a problem if I do take it there. Serfdom in Russia

Dear Amaury, your reverts to Serfdom in Russia are very wrong: the user wrote a paragraph, then added a correction to that paragraph, was (erroneously) reverted by the bot, reverted back, and you wrote him a scalding message reverting the changes back to the bot version. This is wrong, because the bot was clearly in error. Please try to be more careful when you revert. Thanks. Tiphareth (talk) 06:16, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hounding

I understand your post to my talk page. Dougweller and Shibbolethink have been hounding me. I asked them nicely to stop even letting them know I would seek disciplinary actions if they didn't. Instead of stopping they've gotten worse. I am new to Wikipedia and you can follow my editing history for only a few days about topics I believe wikipedia users may be interested in more information. You will see they hounded me from the first post and have continued to do so. Instead of encouraging me to do better these two editors inject their personal points of view through disruptive editing and eliminate well sourced citations if they are critical of their point of view. This does not enhance Wikipedia, in fact it perpetuates one of the greatest criticisms and that is editors who bully others into either leaving entirely or giving up. It in no way improves the neutrality of the articles. In fact, one article I was working on sounded so much like a press release it was disgusting and include virtully no citations yet these two Wikihounders were perfectly happy with it. All I've done is reply in the same way as they have replied to me. I would expect better from experienced Wikipedia users.66.190.249.59 (talk) 22:14, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@66.190.249.59: I can certainly understand your frustrations, but inappropriately templating a regular is not the way to go. If you personally feel these users have stepped out of line, you're more than free to create a report at WP:AN/I or WP:AN/EW (whichever you feel is appropriate -- the latter is for edit-warring) and get opinions from uninvolved editors. - Amaury (talk) 22:19, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Puberty starts at age 9 for girls

It does your incorrect and boys start at age 10 and girls start at age 9. Read the internet puberty usually occurs at age 10 for boys and 9 for girls. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jordanandpeopleyaywoohoo (talkcontribs) 22:27, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Jordanandpeopleyaywoohoo: You changed info that was properly sourced. If you can find another reliable source that backs up your claims, then feel free to change it or add new sentences explaining your claims. - Amaury (talk) 22:32, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Jordanandpeopleyaywoohoo (talk · contribs), you should reply in this section, not how you did earlier; therefore, I removed your "I will report you" text. If you report Amaury, or me, it will backfire on you; see WP:BOOMERANG. The Internet is not a reliable source by itself. Sources found on the Internet, however, can be reliable. For what Wikipedia considers a reliable source, see WP:Reliable source. I already pointed you to the WP:Verifiability policy on your talk page. The content that you are changing at the Puberty article does not state that girls never begin puberty at age 9 or that boys never begin puberty at age 10; it's stating that girls usually begin puberty at age 10 or 11, and that boys usually begin puberty at age 11 or 12. And, as mentioned above, it's sourced. Flyer22 (talk) 22:54, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Imaginaerum Article

@Amaury:

Hi. What am i doing wrong? I did cite the sources for the changes i made. Please see below:

During the USA tour, singer Anette Olzon fell ill at the show in Denver on September 28th, 2012. Elize Ryd and Alissa White-Gluz, the back-up singers for Kamelot, stepped in to help perform the show. After the Denver show, NIGHTWISH posted the following message on its Facebook page: "We were in hell [yesterday]. Vocalist in a hospital. Show about to be canceled... But nobody gave up an inch. With the help from the ladies Elize and Alissa from KAMELOT, we actually managed to pull of a relaxed and great show! The crowd doing the mass karaoke with the band playing was absolutely amazing. We were humbled and grateful at the same time. This is unity and help from friends and fans."<ref>http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/nightwish-in-denver-a-night-without-anette-olzon/</ref> Two days later, Anette Olzon was let go from the band with Floor Jansen being called to finish the tour in her place.<ref>http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/it-s-official-nightwish-parts-ways-with-singer-anette-olzon/</ref> Floor Jansen was announced as the new singer of Nightwish in October 2013.<ref>http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/nightwish-mainman-says-floor-jansen-was-asked-to-become-permanent-member-in-june/</ref> — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.71.46.189 (talk) 03:01, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help

Thank you for your help in keeping Don Lane (Santa Cruz)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Lane_%28Santa_Cruz%29 honest and as negotiated on October 15 2014. They have added this sentence: "The following paragraph was written by a political opponent of Lane who has decided to take up 25 percent of Lane's biography with his obsession with a minor event from more than 25 years ago that is not accurately described. The references cited do not actually verify all of the contents of this paragraph:" which is patently untrue. I am not the political opponent they are referring to though I do oppose many of Lane's policies and decisions. I have added this after the above inserted sentence: "The previous sentence is not true as evidenced by the following links and direct quotes."

It's funny how Don Lane and his team are so upset about this episode that they lie about it. It's also funny that Don Lane refers to it in a jokingly condescending manner in a recent fluff piece about him in a local paper: http://www.gtweekly.com/index.php/santa-cruz-news/santa-cruz-local-news/6203-on-his-terms.html

Again, thanks for your help and diligence on this page. Let's keep it up! The Man of Heart (talk) 13:17, 24 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Amaury, What do you mean by 'moderator' in this sense? I think you misunderstand how wikipedia works.
Haminoon, do you think that this adds to our (V) encyclopaedic knowledge of this world? If we allow it, then surely anyone can just add any 'foo is a place if baatown' - which devalues the entire project. I'm happy to discuss it though. Bobbertybob (talk) 07:18, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Fresh Sullivan: No worries. It's not the first time it's happened. :) If in doubt, always look at the user's user rights log. For example, see C. Fred's here. - Amaury (talk) 22:37, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Marhc vandal

Hi Amaury, you recently reported 98.90.88.69 to AIV. A quick note that I've logged a number of their IPs at User:Cyphoidbomb/Marhc Vandal. If you spot them, you could presumably just refer to my list without having to climb up the warning tree with them—that's just a waste of time. Regards! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:46, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Cyphoidbomb: Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't even aware of the whole mess and thought it was just another vandal until I saw your comment on AIV. - Amaury (talk) 02:48, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Happy to help. And please feel free to add new IPs you happen upon to the list. I saw that you AIV'd 2602:306:25A5:8459:B829:A3B4:8593:A767, so thanks for that. I've added them to the list. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:07, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

manchester fashion week not being vandalised, information wrong

HI i tried to edit manchester fashion week as the content is incorrect. It is not a twice annual event, no show has actually taken place since 2013, it never took place last year as it was cancelled. The entrepreneur Jason was taken to court http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/manchester-fashion-week-cancelled-over-2519867 http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/manchester-fashion-week-boss-jonathan-3564909 I legitimately own the domain name for manchesterfashionweek.com and .co.uk, my website is manchesterfashionweek.com i have run liverpool fashion week for 5 years and have taken over manchester http://www.manchesterconfidential.co.uk/health-and-beauty/fashion/revealed-liverpool-to-take-over-manchester-fashion-week it is recognised by the manchester fashion council http://www.manchesterfashion.com/event/590/childsplay-clothing-manchester-fashion-week so you see your information is out of date can you please amend or let me amend — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amandalifestyle (talkcontribs) 15:28, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Phoenix Global

I need to remove the lies being made about Phoenix Global and the truth about how corrupt the CCC is. Tort1001 (talk) 03:43, 27 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please assist in the truth. You don't understand how corrupt CCC is Tort1001 (talk) 03:49, 27 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Tort1001: That is not the way to handle it. If you feel there are issues with an article, please take it to the article's talk page and reach a consensus with other editors. - Amaury (talk) 03:52, 27 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, Tort1001 is impersonating Tort1201 and I suggest not taking anything they say seriously. I emailed 1201 and he said the new account is not his. I've reported 1001 here. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 07:54, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Amaury: It's curious to me that my little paragraph is being deleted for lack of sourcing, but the paragraph immediately preceding it is not. Why is this? I will undo your delete and provide a source. Thank you.
