Gonna go ahead and delete the made up qualified teams. The for the 2016 WT20 hasn't happened yet, so the list of teams is obviously nonsense. Also altered the article to reflect the fact that only full members can get a bye to the super tens via the rankings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.93.66.145 (talk) 05:41, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Frist round or group round?

Just spotted this saying that "...the ICC insisted that the qualifying part of the tournament be called the first round of the tournament.." I'll look for other sources. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 10:38, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding UDRS. There is no UDRS

@Lugnuts: Is there DRS system, the reference doesn't seem to have any such info.--Vin09(talk) 10:03, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Vin. Yes, looking harder at the source, there's nothing about DRS being used here. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 10:16, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I believe DRS isn't used in T20 cricket at all. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:32, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Aamer ali Oman made his t20i debut against Ireland 117.229.114.12 (talk) 14:57, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I thought this too, but on closer inspection, Cricinfo has two profiles for the same player. See the talkpage of Aamer Ali for more. He also made his T20I debut against Afghanistan in July 2015. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 15:06, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 9 March 2016

In the first paragraph under "Teams", the part which reads "...played in Ireland and Scotland between 6 to 26 July 2015" should be changed either to "...played in Ireland and Scotland from 6 to 26 July 2015" or to "...played in Ireland and Scotland between 6 and 26 July 2015".

"between... to..." is ungrammatical.

A Ali made t20i debut Oman vs ireland 117.228.2.49 (talk) 15:56, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not done – see two sections above. ESPNcricinfo has it wrong, Aamer Ali is the player in question, and has already made his T20I debut. IgnorantArmies (talk) 16:10, 9 March 2016 (UTC)`[reply]
As a side note for others, I'm watching it live and the caption on Sky Sports stated his T20I strike rate as he came out to bat. IE - he must have already played in a T20I before today. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 17:13, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Update - his profiles have been merged and corrected at Cricinfo. Check his own article for full details. Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 08:39, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Already done. On the other hand, Wikipedia is not a live updates service- it relies on volunteers. As such, it should not be expected that Wikipedia is updated the moment a match finishes. Joseph2302 (talk) 18:11, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Indication of time zone on event pages displaying clock time

The time zone information has been removed and I would like to reach a consensus here for having them or not. As this page is about an event and times are show, I believe the time zones should be displayed for the following reasons:

1. It is inconsistent with every previous tournament edition pages, which shows it (2007, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2014).

2. As per MOS:NUM the importance to show time zones is to provide clarity. Without the time zone readers of the page have to make assumptions instead of being provided with clarity. According to WP:TIMEZONE "Be sure to show the UTC or offset appropriate to the clock time in use at the time of the event".

I welcome your thoughts on this.

Regards, 94.210.159.131 (talk) 13:36, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, not everyone is going to know that the times are in Indian time, and lots of people aren't going to know India is UTC + 5.30. It's a consistent, standard thing to have to add clarity to the article. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:26, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've looked at several other "big" events, both cricket and non-cricket, and this seems to be the standard, so I've restored it. Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 14:47, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The problem of PeeJay with DRS option continues

I don't understand why is he against DRS parameter? He, again, undid my version. This needs to be sorted once and for all. Aniruddh 19:34, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You were bold, and your change was reverted. As DRS isn't used in T20s, I don't really see the issue here. IIRC, you were the one who added in the bad source initially to say it was being used! Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 19:45, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I believe, I did not mark it as available (this time). I marked it as unavailable. And as far I believe I was the one who removed after realising the fact. People should know that DRS is not available in the tournament. Those who are puzzled have nowhere to know. Aniruddh 19:57, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As I stated in my edit summary, there is no consensus at Template_talk:Infobox_cricket_tournament#Regarding_Removal_of_DRS_Parameter that this parameter should be included in the infobox or any of its transclusions. In fact, and I know Wikipedia operates by consensus rather than majority, there is a majority in that discussion that the parameter should be removed. – PeeJay 22:50, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It was there since two years and it is staying there unless there is a consensus to remove it. Until then, it is requested to let it work how it supposed to. :) And as far as majority is concerned, there are five people involved in the discussion, 2 of them wants it removed. I wouldn't call it a majority. ;) Aniruddh 23:07, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
DRS is never used in T20 cricket, so saying it's not used here is meaningless and obvious.
And also, try assuming good faith- the title of this section is assuming bad faith from PeeJay. Joseph2302 (talk) 07:32, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Obvious for whom? Those who know it, people like you and me. How about for those who comes with less knowledge? Wikipedia is a place to provide knowledge not a place to assume something, right? This is what we are missing in decision making, people suggest things here based what they think instead of "what is best for general people". Aniruddh 08:20, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Per my discussion at the template talk, I believe it's a meaningless, cluttering parameter. And I'm answer to your question, most of the "general public" won't even know what DRS is, so won't care if it's being used or not. Joseph2302 (talk) 08:49, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
But per my response to your input, you are clearly wrong. It's significant, it's covered in multiple reliable sources, and has been for several years. Most of the "general public" won't know what "bowling figures" are either, so that argument is a complete strawman. The Rambling Man (talk) 09:01, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, a baseless argument here. You are saying that they don't even deserve to know what UDRS is? You clearly are not thinking from people's point of view. You are saying what you like and what you don't like. Aniruddh 09:45, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Probably best to continue this were it was started - Template_talk:Infobox_cricket_tournament#Regarding_Removal_of_DRS_Parameter. Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 09:55, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
'DRS' is a parameter, which is less significant, and doesn't deserve this much lengthy argument. Can't you just follow the procedure which was used in old WT20 articles? PK talk 09:57, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, they are full members. http://www.icc-cricket.com/bangladesh-cricket-team Aniruddh 08:22, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There will be a reason (because there usually is)....

....but I can't see what it is. In the Most Runs section of the stats section, we say Tamim Iqbal scored 257 runs in four matches, four innings, for an average of 128.5. How does that work? Did he only bat in two innings of the four matches? Moriori (talk) 14:03, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The average is the total number of runs divided by the number of times he's been out - although he's had 4 innings, I guess he's only been out twice. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:14, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's also why Gayle has average -, because he hasn't been out yet, so his average doesn't exist. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:16, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Jamie Atkinson's average is reported as 27.33 from 82 runs over three innings, including a not out. Hey, it's 3.27 a.m. where I am so beddy byes for me and back later todayMoriori (talk) 14:27, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Atkinson doesn't have a not out, he's been out 3 times according to the Cricinfo source. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:41, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed by Lugnuts. He shouldn't have been listed as 53* as top score. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:15, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Afghanistan's total is the highest by an Associate side against a Test side in a T20I match.[37]"

Cricinfo has it wrong. Look at the source and then click the link to look at the table from the statsguru page. They don't list all the Full Members despite claiming in the article that this is "the highest from an Associate side against a Full Member". They only list 8 out the 10 full members and exclude Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. In this very tournament Afghanistan scored 186/6 against Zimbabwe and Afghanistan's highest score against a full member was 215/6 against Zimbabwe on January 10, 2016 in Sharjah. 72.27.27.230 (talk) 17:42, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
