Binal Kottacadu

I am not sure if i am doing the right way by typing in here. If I am doing wrong please do delete my message. I was trying to create this page and i was not sure about the user name policy, I was trying to create this page for Binal Kottacadu, and in that process ended up in username. I could change the username according to guidelines and ask someone who knows wikipedia to edit the page as per the wikipedia guidelines. The user name and article was not created this way purposely, but accidently ended up like this because I was not used to wikipedia language.. Binal Kottacadu (talk) 22:23, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I would recommend reading change of username and follow that process to change your username because you could get blocked by an administrator with your current username. The Newspaper (talk) 23:41, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New Pages Patrol

Information icon Hi. Thank you for your help with the vital work of patrolling new pages. I noticed that you are not marking some of the pages you've reviewed as patrolled. Please do remember to click the 'mark this page as patrolled' link at the bottom of the new page if you have performed the standard patrolling tasks. Where appropriate, doing so saves time and work by informing fellow patrollers of your review of the page, so that they do not duplicate efforts. Thanks again for volunteering your time at the new pages patrol project. G S Palmer (talkcontribs) 01:06, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice, I'll make sure to do that. The Newspaper (talk) 01:39, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Un-reviewed page

You left me a message about un-reviewing my review of an article. Can you explain that? Thanks—LucasThoms 04:22, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What article was it? I didn't mean to do it. The Newspaper (talk) 04:24, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It was Fraternidad Diablada Eucaliptus La Paz del Gran Poder. You apparently un-reviewed it, left me the message, then reviewed it again. —LucasThoms 04:25, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry, I didn't mean to do that. I thought I was messaging the creator saying it was reviewed. I thought it said it wasn't reviewed yet. Sorry about that. The Newspaper (talk) 04:26, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, that's fine. Thanks for helping make WP a better place! If you need help or anything else, please let me know! Thanks!—LucasThoms 04:28, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Foreign-language articles

Hi The Newspaper: Please don't tag articles in a foreign-language for speedy deletion as G1, as you did at राजेसुल्तानपुर. If you look at the explanation for that tag on the speedy deletion criteria page, it specifically exempts foreign-language articles (and even bad translations!) Simply and solely being in a foreign language is also one of the inapplicable rationales listed further down the page. In this instance, the page duplicated the topic Rajesultanpur, so it qualified for deletion under A10. (And the creator had previously created hi:राजेसुल्तानपुर, so it also qualified under A2.) But it's insulting to a page creator to equate a foreign-language text with gobbledygook - and if it gets deleted when it did not need to be, the article we lose is likely to be in an under-represented field. What you should do is tag it with {{Not English}} and follow the instructions on the resulting template to report it at WP:Pages needing translation into English - in this instance someone had done that, but the article creator had removed the template. So it might also be wise to check the history and see if there was a template you can just reinstate. Thanks for understanding. Yngvadottir (talk) 19:50, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. The Newspaper (talk) 18:25, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Opensoftindia page

Hello The Newspaper,

I am not promoting or selling anything on my page. This page is about 5 freelancers who started a company on their own. How we did it, what we thing and what are our goals.

If I am doing something wrong you can let me know what should I change. If you find that my page has something that shouldn't be there please let me know.

Using "We" and "Our" in my article is owing to the effort we as a team has made. I can't boast I build this by myself and doesn't respect what my colleagues did for me.

Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chandan osi (talkcontribs) 02:48, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think you should read conflict of interest. Thanks, The Newspaper (talk) 21:04, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Colin O'Donoghue

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Colin O'Donoghue: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. —LucasThoms 05:33, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I normally use twinkle so it usually does it for me— Preceding unsigned comment added by The Newspaper (talkcontribs)
Twinkle does open up their talk pages for you, but it's up to you to warn them. You can either warn them with {{subst:uw-vand1|NAME OF THE ARTICLE THEY VANDALIZED}} or by using the Warn option in the TW menu on their talk page that pops up. If you need help or anything else, please let me know! Thanks!—LucasThoms 17:06, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

List of British Muslims

Hi, I noticed that you reverted an edit here by a sockpuppet from this investigation who is now using throwaway IPs to edit war on List of British Muslims.

I have tried to engage in a discussion on the talk page to resolve the matter. However, after leaving one comment he is refusing to reply to the points I have raised on the matter and is just repeatedly reverting my edit, meaning that I can not take the matter to WP:Third opinion to obtain a consensus as the discussion is not progressive. I was wondering if there is anything you could do or keep an eye on the reverts? Thanks. 00:31, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I can keep an eye on the page. Should I ask for semi-protection of the page?. Thanks The Newspaper (talk) 00:50, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks I would appreciate it if you do not mind. Yes I think that may solve the problem. Can you also keep an eye on List of British Bangladeshis for the exact same issue as well? And if the problem persists there, take the same course of action? Thank again, take care. Tanbircdq (talk) 09:00, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. The Newspaper (talk) 09:01, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

look

Look here thee historu of List of British Bangladeshis. Why tanbircdq are not doing anything in that article? Because he is sockpuppet of User:YousufMiah. LOOK also here, he did the same thing with his second account. He is also warned by this admin [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.157.151.21 (talk) 12:12, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not to mention the fact that you are a sock puppet of Aldota. Thanks, The Newspaper (talk) 18:24, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not to also mention the fact that I admitted operating two accounts in this investigation, the sock account has rightly been blocked as per WP:Sock puppetry#Blocking and User:Callanecc let me off with a formal warning.
Unfortunately the same cannot be said about Aldota, he has had 53 accounts so far with the jury still out on three more, as he continues to excessively sock like it is going out of fashion. Tanbircdq (talk) 19:30, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have also requested that those 2 articles be protected. The Newspaper (talk) 19:55, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We both are sockpuppet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.185.186.149 (talk) 21:48, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Revert

You (accidentally) removed > from the end of a comment left by SineBot. Without that symbol, anything after that on the page would've disappeared. —LucasThoms 16:18, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay Thanks The Newspaper (talk) 16:19, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I request you to investigate all the sources provided in the article Nepali bihari , an ethnic groups in Nepal. (70.39.185.106 (talk) 16:29, 12 July 2014 (UTC))[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Sony Gomes

Hello The Newspaper. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Sony Gomes, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Article content has been added since it was tagged. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 20:22, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like Bbb23 deleted it. Thanks. The Newspaper (talk) 22:51, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewing administrator: As it is a checkuser block - regular admins cannot overturn it. On hold while waiting for a CU. @Elockid: SQLQuery me! 22:39, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am User:Nascarman1 and after some time away from Wikipedia, I have decided to return upon your permission. I have lost my password to my Nascarman1 account and I used the same password for most of my puppets. If you unblock me, this will be the account I plan on using. I took the WP:STANDARD as requested on the Nascarman1 talk page and am ready to return to work. I apologize for my behavior last year. I also want to let you know that this IP is at a school (A check user can verify that.) So I wouldn't mind having IP Block Exempt as well. Once again I am very sorry for the trouble. If you have any questions please comment on my talk page. The Newspaper (talk) 17:36, 13 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Administrator use only:

After the blocking administrator has left a comment, do one of the following:

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after "decline=", a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.

As this block is a checkuser block the request will have to wait for the attention of a checkuser; this should not take long. As IP block exemption is only granted to users in good standing with a significant history of good quality editing, I suspect that the chance of your getting this is not high. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:55, 13 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, that's fine. Like I said earlier, this IP address belongs to a school, so I cannot promise that students won't vandalize. But I will promise that this account will not do anything inappropriate anymore if unblocked. The Newspaper (talk) 13:47, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
