I noticed this page had a reference to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines score in the 2010 Index of Economic Freedom. The company I work for, The Heritage Foundation, produces that report, and since 2010, their rank has gone from 49 to 40 (http://www.heritage.org/index/country/saintvincentgrenadines). If another editor could make that edit to avoid COI it would be much appreciated.

Spliting the Haitian Revolution

I would like to call your attention to a proposal for splitting the Haitian Revolution article. We welcome your participation. Thanks. Caballero/Historiador 23:41, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting? How so? Savvyjack23 (talk) 00:36, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for asking. More than splitting, the proposal is to grow or engender another article from of it, one temporarily named "Haitian Revolutionary Wars," much in the image of the split that exists in the French and American Revolutions' articles. And move the bulk of the military material to this new article. Part of the disorder, contradiction, and misinformation that prevails in the HR article owns to the confusion between armed conflict and the revolutionary process. Look, for example, at the attempt to create an infobox about an armed conflict that would incorporate the entire HR. Where would you put Toussaint? He fought for the Spanish, for the French, but also against the Spanish, British and French. What about the casualties? Where are the numbers? Moreover, what would you call the Blacks who died in battle between the years 1793 and 1803? Slaves? Not even their enemies called them so (the colonists preferred to call them "negroes", but they knew well they were no slaves anymore). None of this is apparent in the current article. But most importantly, as I explained in the article's Talk Page, to keep the article as it is, is to give the impression that the Revolution was a war that lasted for more than 12 years, and to reduce it to a military conflict, or worse, to a simple slave revolt. I suggest the plural "Wars" at the end of the new title (differently from the American Revolutionary War) because they were several wars, not all fought with the same objective. In other words, they are not as neatly organized as the French and American military conflicts; there is more ambiguity in the HR. Would appreciate your thoughts in the article's Talk Page. Economy of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Page

Greetings,

I noticed this page had a reference to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines score in the 2010 Index of Economic Freedom. The company I work for, The Heritage Foundation, produces that report, and since 2010, their rank has gone from 49 to 40 (http://www.heritage.org/index/country/saintvincentgrenadines). If another editor could make that edit to avoid COI it would be much appreciated.
