Due to steadily increasing popularity of the festival, in 2016, the number of visitors had grown to up to 5000 people. The participation rate of foreign attendees increased from 5 percent to 30 percent - the live stream of the festival was followed from 43 countries. Brain Bar Budapest is an annual global festival on the future organized in Budapest, Hungary since 2015. A wide range of topics is addressed in order to discuss and predict social and technological trends. The festival had over 200 speakers from more than 25 countries, including Chris Hadfield, Niall Ferguson, Sugata Mitra and Philip Zimbardo.[1] In addition to various format types of speeches, the festival hosts artistic performances including DJ sets and mini shows.

Brain Bar Budapest is the largest future-themed festival in Europe, and is now attended by more than 5000 people, including 150 volunteers and over 200 media people. The festival is becoming more and more international with visitors from 43 countries (with an especially large participation of British, Austrians and Polish).

The festival receives extensive media coverage with over 180 articles featured in print and online press, including Brain Bar Budapest's official media partner WIRED.
