:No problem. Just a note, that I would appreciate if you do not remove the tag yourself (or edit the article yourself). The tag is not supposed to be removed unless the issues are fixed. In fact, the tag actually signals other editors to chip in and help with the review. I am currently doing the review, but it takes a bit of time. When I am done, I will surely remove the tag. As for your alternate accounts, it can be mentioned on your userpage using an userbox. I can do that for you in a while. Thank you. --[[User:Lemongirl942|Lemongirl942]] ([[User talk:Lemongirl942|talk]]) 01:06, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

Welcome

Hello, Brbrvanderlinden, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created was Barbara vanderlinden, which appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Belgian films of the 2010s, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Wide (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Conflict of interest issues

HI. I work on conflict of interest issues here in Wikipedia. You have had some interaction with people who help manage COI here, and I just wanted to make sure you understand what you are supposed to do, when you want to edit about things where you have a conflict of interest in Wikipedia. If you are not sure, please ask. I am "watching" this page, so if you reply here I will see it. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 03:08, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo Jytdog. I am not sure that I understand what exactly I need to do. Woudl you be so kind to explain me a bi more or direct me to a page where I can find the information. Thank you --curatingedit (talk) 05:57, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, that's interesting, you have added a mask of "curatingedit" over your account name! Because of that, I am going to email you and we will take up the preliminary part of the discussion privately. Jytdog (talk) 06:27, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Brbrvanderlinden. I noticed that you have recently edited the article Barbara Vanderlinden. Your username along with the discussion on this talk page indicates that you might have a conflict of interest. However, this is not a problem. On Wikipedia (as in academia), we have guidelines to help manage a conflict of interest. This involves 2 steps

  • A disclosure about the conflict of interest
  • A peer review of the edits

I can help walk you through the procedure. The first step (disclosure) is important here. As such, would you please disclose if you have any connection to Barbara Vanderlinden? Please note that you do not need to reveal your identity. A simple acknowledgement of a connection is all that is needed. Once this is done, we can proceed to the next step. I look forward to your reply. Thank you. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 19:24, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Lemongirld1942. I did make some minor changes to the Wikipedia page about myself. I did not change the content or text, just added a couple of references to make sure the content is verifiable. Thank you for your attention. --curatingedit (talk) 09:26, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. The recommended practice in case of a conflict of interest (COI) is to use the article talk page to request changes. This can be done using the template {{Request edit}} (See "How to use"). This allows editors to peer review your changes before implementing them on the actual article. While it may seem a tad tedious, it preserves transparency and helps protect the integrity of Wikipedia (this process is very similar to academia). I would be glad if you could use the mentioned template from now on and propose any changes on the talk page. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 10:47, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again Lemongirld1942. Thank you for informing me about the recommended practice. I will use that for any eventual next changes. However, now that I have already done them, can you verify my changes and remove the {{autobiography}} note once you feel my added reference to the article are OK? Thanking you in advance! --curatingedit (talk) 11:38, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I will review the article carefully by today or tomorrow and I will remove the tag after that. Thank you for your cooperation. I also wanted to ask if Barbara6558 is an alternate account of yours. Usually, alternate accounts are not forbidden (I have one myself), but per WP:SOCK#LEGIT they need to be declared (which you can see on my userpage). Accordingly, I would encourage your to declare them as well. Thank you. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 11:58, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Again Brbrvanderlinden. Thank you for your time! Yes, Barbara6558 is an alternate account of me. I declare that, I assume that has to be done on my Talk page, yes? --curatingedit (talk) 13:00, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Just a note, that I would appreciate if you do not remove the tag yourself (or edit the article yourself). The tag is not supposed to be removed unless the issues are fixed.
