Speedy Deletion concern Najmuddine Bammate

I specifically asked to ask whether you have any questions before putting removal tags. I have a direct permission to post that article from the author.

Draft Review

Hey @Zackmann08: can you please review the article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Zaki_Ameer) and move it to the article space. Then I'll add more materials to it. Thanks

Hello Zackmann08

I am new to Wikipedia editing so please bear with me...

I am currently sitting next to Chris Liddell and I am editing his page as per his instructions.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Regards,

George — Preceding unsigned comment added by GeorgeLiddell (talkcontribs) 20:42, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@GeorgeLiddell: Not sure where to start. You are removing sourced material and deleting categories from the page. When I tried to explain that to you by leaving messages on your page you just repeatedly undid my changes. The fact that you are sitting next to Chris Liddell only further demonstrates your Conflict of interest. Please read the contents of that link. Please also read Verifiability, not truth. If you continue to edit the page without reading this material and ignoring the multiple warnings that have been given to you, your account will be blocked by an administrator. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:47, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Zackmann08 Yes, I have seen the message now. If I leave all of the existing reference links in place, and only rewrite/reorder the sentences without adding new information - would that be okay? The only addition that I would like to add is an updated photo - is that okay too? — Preceding unsigned comment added by GeorgeLiddell (talkcontribs) 20:53, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@GeorgeLiddell: if you add material it must be cited. You also cannot use the page to promote the subject. Adding a photo would be alright. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:56, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Zackmann08 Thanks for the help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by GeorgeLiddell (talkcontribs) 20:58, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Zackmann08: I have added more references where you have left comments, hopefully these are sufficient. I have also removed the irrelevant promotional content. What else should do you think I should edit in order for the page to survive deletion? GeorgeLiddell (talk) 23:36, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help on article deletion

I'm sorry to bother you.

I am new to Wikipedia editing,so please give me some help.Recently,I am revising the page of Gavriel Salvendy according to your suggestions. But This page has been deleted. The deletion and move log for the page are provided below for reference.

In this regard, I have two questions need your answer:

Please tell me what should i do?

Vicjiavic, the page was deleted for being a copyright violation; content on Wikipedia must be written in the users own words. Given that there were multiple instances of copyrighted material being removed, I am disinclined to undelete the page, even if it is back to the draft space. I suggest you start over at Draft:Gavriel Salvendy. Primefac (talk) 14:04, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox Anglican province

Hi, with your work on Template:Infobox Anglican province you have left one link to a disambiguation page in there. But as I am too unfamiliar with the code used, I stay away from it instead of trying to fix it. Could you please take care of the link to Church? The Banner talk 12:13, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@The Banner: looks like Jonesey95 already took care of it. Thanks to both of you! Sorry for the mistake. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 17:38, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

NaveenNkadalaveni (talk) 07:59, 18 January 2017 (UTC)NaveenNkadalaveni Hi,[reply]

Regarding Uttarakaanda wiki page. Since i'm new here i have directly copy pasted some of the sentence from source article. I was not aware of this copy right act. Now i have changed it properly. since the content of that is same across all news papers i have just changed the form of expressing that content. Please let me know in case of any concerns. Thank you for your help. Please do not delete this page. That part of the text is free from copy right since that is universal truth fact.

++In addition to this i could see That News paper website itself copied some of the sentences from existing Wikipedia page Parva (novel), Please check. This Parva (novel) page was created earlier than this website article. In case of any concerns pls leave a massage on my talk page. Thanks for your help :)

Tropical Cyclone Infoboxes

Hey man, in the future please note that the tropical cyclone infoboxes template reads maximum sustained winds in knots, not mph. I'm in the process of fixing the revisions. Just thought I'd give you a head's up. TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk · contributions) 19:12, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@TropicalAnalystwx13: thanks for catching that. What confused me is that the template doesn't display knots at any point. Only mph and km/h. :-\ --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 19:16, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@TropicalAnalystwx13: can you also weigh in on the conversion to using {{Infobox}} for that template? --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:16, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Autobox24

Hello Zackmann08. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Autobox24, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: clearly claims significance and not unambigous advertising. Thank you. SoWhy 21:49, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox order

Hello Zackmann08, I just noticed that you had made a revision to Template:Infobox order on December 19 here. That revision has changed the way that two of the fields display by effectively making those two fields mandatory, whereas they used to be optional before. Specifically, the "awarded_by" and "country" fields only used to display themselves in the infobox if data was entered into those fields. However, after your revision, those two fields now display in the infobox even if no data is entered into either field. The problem is that the Wikipedia articles that use "Template:Infobox order" generally only use one of those two fields, and some Wikipedia articles that use that infobox do not use either of those fields. The result is that there are now lots of Wikipedia articles about orders that display "Awarded by" and "Award of" in the infobox, but there is data in only one or in none of those two fields. For example, if you look at Order of the Holy Spirit, you will see that the infobox displays "Awarded by" on the grey background, even though there is no data in that field. In order to solve this problem, those two fields need to be made optional (as they were before your revision) so that the heading only gets displayed if there is data in that particular field. Since this issue affects every article that uses this template, is there any way that you could possibly correct this? I would greatly appreciate your help, and please post a reply (as soon as you can) and ping me to let me know whether you are able to look into this issue now, or if I should somehow try to correct the template myself. Thanks for your assistance. -- Blairall (talk) 05:12, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) I think that I have fixed this problem. Affected articles may need a WP:NULLEDIT (click Edit, then Save without making any changes). – Jonesey95 (talk) 06:17, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Blairall: sorry mate! Been a crazy day... Only just now seeing your message. Great catch. I'm sorry for that mistake. Major props to Jonesey95 for jumping right on this! Really appreciate it. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 06:19, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The revision by Jonesey95 seems to have solved this problem, which is great! Thanks for your assistance, and I greatly appreciate your help. -- Blairall (talk) 16:31, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox baseball league championship series

This template does NOT include the LDS like it used to. Even though I tried to find a way to put in, I couldn't. Is there a way to put it in to fix the infoboxes that previously had it? Zacchaeusbarbour (talk) 17:21, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Zacchaeusbarbour: sorry for the delay. I've been crazy busy the past few days. Let me look into this... --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 07:17, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Zacchaeusbarbour: issue should now be resolved. Might require a WP:NULLEDIT to show up... Thank you for bringing this to my attention! --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 07:34, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Wikiproject!

Hello, Zackmann08! I saw you recently edited a page related to the Green party and green politics. There is a new WikiProject that has been formed - WikiProject Green Politics and I thought this might be something you'd be interested in joining! So please head on over to the project page and take a look! Thanks for your time. Me-123567-Me (talk) 18:38, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion nomination of Franck van der Heijden

@Zackmann08: Good morning, I'm so sorry I've lost all your comments regarding the article of Franck van der Heijden and wasn't able to do nothing to prevent deletion. As a new user here I just ask you to help me and explain how it is possible to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement. I also would be grateful to you if you could help me to improve and cancel the deletion of the article. I understand that you receive a lot of letters with similar requests, but I assure you that Franck van der Heijden and his works deserve to be presented in Wikipedia.

Tag bombing Philadelphia Bulldogs / Failure to observe WP:BEFORE

I'm not sure what WP:POINT you're trying to make with this edit, tag bombing the page for the Philadelphia Bulldogs. Details regarding the 1994 expansion and Tony Danza are explicitly provided in this source, already in the article. Tony Danza is even mentioned in the quotation cited in the reference within the article. Details regarding ticket sales are listed in this source, helpfully provided at the end of the paragraph. I do acknowledge hat the lack of a source for Bruzer, the lovable bulldog mascot, are needed, but that would hardly appear to be a justification for deletion. There ain't a WP:TROUT big enough for the slap that's needed here. Do you understand policy regarding WP:BEFORE that obligates you to look for sources *before* starting an AfD? Alansohn (talk) 17:56, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just an FYI; the change to a set infobox has caused an issue with the team row of the infobox. I'll use the example of the 2015 Giro d'Italia. Both the team and the teampoints parameters are filled in the infobox text, but only teampoints shows. Craig(talk) 23:43, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Cs-wolves: thanks for the heads up. Do me a favor and don't make any more changes for a bit. I'm going to look into it right now. Don't want to have edit conflicts. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 23:47, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Zackmann08: Sure, no problem. Craig(talk) 23:50, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Cs-wolves: GREAT catch. Was a pretty weird bug but I got it fixed. If you find any other issues, please let me know. Thanks!!! --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 23:55, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Zackmann08: Recent year articles look perfect now (2015 Giro showing both team classifications now), but some older articles such as the 2004 Tour de France (which predates any season-long classifications such as the UCI ProTour, UCI World Tour et al.) are showing {{{series}}}, as if the parameter needs to be added to the infobox text, in order for to show as blank i.e. | series =. Would that not need to be input as {{#if:{{{series|}}} or something along those lines? I must admit templating infoboxes is not my forte! Craig(talk) 00:15, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Another great catch! I've fixed it but let me give you a quick lesson. You CAN use the if syntax... but a much easier solution is just to use the bar `|`. So if you have | above = {{{series}}} (without the bar in series) then if series is not provided you will get the output you saw. However, if you use the bar... | above = {{{series|}}} then if series is not supplied it will not display. The bar sets the default. Something you will see a lot in templates is | above = {{{title|{{PAGENAME}}}}}. What this is saying is "Look for the title param, but if it is empty, then just use {{PAGENAME}} (which is a MAGIC WORD). In our case, we are setting the default to null. Make sense? --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 00:22, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Makes perfect sense, many thanks for that quick tutorial! Craig(talk) 00:28, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Cs-wolves: My pleasure! You ever have questions about templates, feel free to drop me a line. Always happy to help. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 00:30, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Will do, and I shall bear that in mind. Craig(talk) 00:31, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
