Reversion to a much older version

I've reverted the page back to a modified form of a much older version of this article. I'm hoping that this article will retain good standards, as I was insulted to see the page wrecked from vandals, especially given as I lived here for the first 17 years of my life. -- TheChrisD 18:14, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Public transport

Much as transport in Dublin 15 is poor, could we maybe use a phrase other than "the average .... peaks" - this is stating the maximum time as the average which it is not. Alternatively, a range of times, or a reported true average would be much more appropriate. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.40.151.66 (talk) 20:56, 10 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

About the traffic. The article states that too many small roads etc... The reality is that if you want to go to the city centre from Blanchardstown you don't have many options. You have to go through the N3/Navan Road or Via Castleknock. Partly due to geographical reasons, Blanchardstown is split from the rest of the city, because of the M50, and only two main connections connect it. More connections are probably hard to create, due to the Tolka and the Liffey giving a natural (protected) border.
With only 2 main connections and the amount of traffic, it is no wonder traffic is so bad. By creating a lot of estates, all cars are forced on the same roads anyway. This and the overwhelming amount of traffic lights simply stops all flow. 159.134.94.21 13:39, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The section on transport is hardly NPOV is it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nialler (talkcontribs) 11:09, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The whole part on transport is true. There is a request for a lot of citations, understandably, but it’s all true. I live in B-town and it reflects reallity.Eurocanna (talk) 19:48, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Population

where did the figure of 90,952 come from. According to the 2006 census, it was 62,976. see http://citypopulation.de/Ireland.html JJB 20:02, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

County

The article lists fingal as a County. This is incorrect it is a county borrough.

Lists from recent edits

Some good work has been done to develop the article, and I have just made a few edits to compact it a bit. However, I think further compaction of the schools section is probably worthwhile (the adjoining Junior and Senior, and B and C schools, can share lines, maybe?) Also, the community and voluntary section is a fine list, but needs narrative text. And the External Links section is simply too long, and needs editing - some of these could be attached as citations, and some are perhaps best left to explicit directories such as DMOZ. Overall, though, good to see. If the Links and voluntary sections improve just a bit, I think the article can be up-rated to C. SeoR (talk) 09:07, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Politics arís...

Should probably have slightly more on the Óglaigh na hÉireann. Get to it. Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi 17:19, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Demographics section

I just fixed a typo in this section, but I'm concerned that the statistics are unsourced. Additionally, the statement: ("Blanchardstown has one of the highest percentage of non-Irish in the country, and the lowest percentage of white Irish") is also unsourced, and, even if comparisons like that are WP:DUE here, they should certainly not be unsupported. Is there some sourcing for these items elsewhere which I'm missing? -- Begoon 02:30, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I share this concern. And indeed the others raised on the editor's talkpage. On this particular one, I had tagged this as needing a cite some time ago. And have attempted to assist the editor to address this tag. Unfortunately without success. Given that the stats (and the claims) do not stand-up to the stats that I have been able to find, I would support just removing them. (For example, according to the 2016 SAPMAP data, the Electoral Division of Blanchardstown-Roselawn is 87% white Irish, Blanchardstown-Corduff is 78% white Irish, etc. Some other electoral areas in the Blanchardstown catchment have different (sometimes more diverse) ethnic make-ups. But without understanding where the stats "come from", it looks like we're not taking the aggregate. Guliolopez (talk) 11:04, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
From what I can tell, Galway is the most ethnically diverse city (19.4% non-Irish) in Ireland,[1] while Ballyhaunis is often toted as the most ethnically diverse town in the country (at only 40% white Irish).[2][3]
Based on the 2011 census (page 16 of this), the most ethnically diverse EDs of Dublin include The Ward[4] and Airport[5], as well as some parts of the inner city, as expected. Blanchardstown, although bordering the Ward electoral division, does not seem to be any more ethnically diverse than much of the rest of the city or suburbs.
I suspect the editor was simply confused, and the statement should probably be removed. Wasechun tashunkaHOWLTRACK 18:36, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
