Should we use biological son to describe Ronan Farrow in the "Sex abuse allegations" section after his mother expressed doubts about his paternity? The sentence reads "Allen's biological son Ronan Farrow has said that he believes Dylan,..." Gene2010 (talk) 06:12, 27 October 2017 (UTC) |

The editors of this page are not entirely in agreement about which people are eligible for inclusion in the list, and request community input. In particular, does achievement in the field that is notable partly or primarily due to the overcoming of social barriers present within the field, constitute grounds for inclusion in the list? Zazpot (talk) 13:21, 25 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should the girlfriends name be stated; or referred to as girlfriend. Example
"Support" means state the name; "Oppose" means don't state the name. GreenC 12:45, 25 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should the article include the unsupported allegation of sexual molestation recently levied against Elie Wiesel for an incident which supposedly took place in 1989, as long as it also includes the denial issued by the Wiesel Foundation? Or should the inclusion be held for such time, if any, that the allegation is supported by evidence or additional allegations? Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:18, 24 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should Jimbo's real name "James Dezarnaulds" be mentioned in the article? –Davey2010Talk 17:37, 23 October 2017 (UTC) |
It appears to be traditional that Governors General of Canada, and possibly other similar democracies, confer titles on the subject of "Her Excellency the Right Honourable" (or "His" for male subjects). Prior to that, the subject is known by an honorific title. For males, it is usually, "Mr." although some have also been "Dr." For married females, it is usually, "Mrs." We have a reference, that refers to the subject as "Ms. Payette". Should we use that, or some other honorific such as "Miss" or "Mrs."? Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:39, 21 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should we use the "pink" or the "green" image in this article? - Sitush (talk) 06:39, 20 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should we add rapist to the lead sentence of Roman Polanski's intro. Gene2010 (talk) 12:18, 19 October 2017 (UTC) |

Should the Polish version (and other verifiably relevant non-English versions) of the name of Jadwiga of Poland's daughter, Elizabeth Bonifacia, be mentioned in this article? Elizabeth Bonifacia was born on or after 22 June 1399 and died on 13 July. Borsoka (talk) 04:51, 17 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should we include Sarsour's comments in response to U.S. President Barack Obama saying that Muslims should "root out" extremism following the 2015 San Bernardino attack? (updated 19:52, 16 October 2017 (UTC) |

Talk:Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi
For many years, al-Khwarizmi is said to be Persian in the first sentence of the lead. For many years also, there are lengthy discussions in this talk page about his ethnicity. It appears that the only fact that is really known about this is the part "al-Khwarizmi" of his Arabic name. On the other hand, al-Khwarizmi lived and worked in Baghdad, and all his known writings are written in Arabic. Thus, whichever was his ethnicity, al-Khwarizmi was an Arabic scholar. Thus presenting al-Khwarizmi as Persian in the lead is "stating seriously contested assertions as facts" (see WP:YESPOV), and breaks Wikipedia policy of neutral point of view. By this edit, I have tempted to fix this; my edit has been reverted, although it has been supported by two other editors, and this led to a week of full protection of the article. It must also be mentioned that his ethnicity is discussed in the section "Life".
My question is thus: Should the first sentence be my version
or the previous version
or something else? (I have removed the notes from the quotes; this does not imply that they should be removed from the article.) D.Lazard (talk) 16:56, 14 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should the article on Linda Sarsour describe the 2014 attempted assault and hate crime by local homeless man Brian Boshell and his later court-ordered drug and alcohol treatment? —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 14:24, 14 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should this article use not only phone book records, but several different kinds of primary sources, as it does? Please take a look at the discussions above, at the sections "Original research" and "Phone and Address Records". - Nabla (talk) 02:39, 14 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should Peter Hore be primarily described as a "criminal" both here and at the Peter Hoare disambiguation page? His misdeeds are relatively minor and there is a suggestion that he might have a mental illness.--Jack Upland (talk) 07:48, 10 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should we reduce the number of his children to 11? Stephen Blackehart and Linda Carroll have denied to have any relation to Brando, and there is no proof that Angelique Brando, Lisa Brando, Michael Gilman, Dylan Brando and Warren Brando are his children. Bluhy23 (talk) 18:29, 8 October 2017 (UTC) |
Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)
Currently, WP:NOTMEMORIAL states that "Wikipedia is not the place to memorialize deceased friends, relatives, acquaintances, or others who do not meet [the requirements at WP:BLP]". Many, including myself, have interpreted this as prohibiting lists of victims in the articles of tragedies. However, many others disagreed, and in June 2016 there was a discussion as to whether to add such a list to 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting. In the closing statement, it was suggested that while there is a precedent to include such lists, such precedent may conflict with NOTMEMORIAL, and a separate RfC should be held about the general interpretation of the NOTMEMORIAL and to determine whether or not a list of victims violates the policy. Indeed, local consensus for 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting was "to allow the list untill it is either removed to a separate article or a higher level consensus abolishes the use of such lists acrosss wikipedia" [sic]. The full closing statement by Maunus is below for reference:
That brings us here. I propose that we add a line to WP:NOTMEMORIAL that would prohibit listing individual victims of tragedies if they do not meet our notability guidelines and/or WP:BLP. This would apply to not just lists, but general naming of non-notable victims as well, either in the article or as a separate article. This proposal, if approved, would also override any local consensus and precedents. SkyWarrior 04:53, 7 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should the categories Ashkenazi Jews, German people of Jewish descent, Jewish atheists, Jewish philosophers, Jewish socialists, Jewish sociologists be added to this article? RolandR (talk) 11:08, 6 October 2017 (UTC) |
Should the following be in the article? Please state Include/Exclude (+modifications for Include if you think some are required): In 2003, after the capture of Saddam Hussein, Sarsour said she and other Palestinians felt humiliated by the way Hussein was displayed, adding, "I think he's done a lot of things he shouldn't have done, but I was hurt. My Arab pride was hurt".[1]Icewhiz (talk) 13:20, 5 October 2017 (UTC) |
