Hey there, |
|||
I just want you to be carful with how you are writing - especially while you are including serious topics such as death threats. Luckily, the information was nearly correct, (was not death threats against him and his mother, but rather his father due to his out of wedlock birth) but when dealing with topics like that it is important to be as accurate as possible, and use as up to date sources as possible. I completely nuked the section as that is a very serious topic and the sources that you had included did not mention anything about either the name changes or death threats. While probably not the best way to deal with that subject, I was editing on my mobile and did not have time to find different or more accurate sources. However, (and I know you have no way of knowing) I did have the intention of rewriting / editing / replacing sources when I got home. When I did get home, you had already replaced one of the sources (might I add with one I was about to use), and I have fixed the rest. |
|||
Additionally the use of the word 'including' when preceding a list should only be used when the list is not all inclusive. Including, at least in my mind, creates the idea that the information following is a subsection of a complete list, truncated for purposes of including only valuable or interesting entries. As the list used for detailing vice chair positions is fully complete, it should not be used. Generally I see the word including followed immediately by 'but not limited to'. |
|||
I will say that your writing is entertaining, and I appreciate someone taking the time to put information onto the page. I have kinda taken the page under my wing once I noticed the COI editor, so I really appreciate someone taking the time that I dont have to fill the page. |
|||
I noticed on your talk page that you are working on your masters in Journalism. Thank you for taking the time away from your studies to help curate the worlds best free information source! Best of luck with your masters! |

December 2017
Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Tenisha Yancey (politician). I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Use of edit summaries
Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary.

Disambiguation link notification for December 7
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Cary Pigman, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Operation New Dawn (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you are interested, or you can add it directly to your user page by copying the following: {{WPMILHIST Announcements}}.
- Important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, writing contests, and article logistics.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a set of guidelines that cover article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- If you're looking for something to work on, there are many articles that need attention, as well as a number of review alerts.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any of the project coordinators or any other experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome, and we are looking forward to seeing you around! Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 23:58, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
2017 Military Historian of the Year and Newcomer of the Year nominations and voting
As we approach the end of the year, the Military History project is looking to recognise editors who have made a real difference. Each year we do this by bestowing two awards: the Military Historian of the Year and the Military History Newcomer of the Year. The co-ordinators invite all project members to get involved by nominating any editor they feel merits recognition for their contributions to the project. Nominations for both awards are open between 00:01 on 2 December 2017 and 23:59 on 15 December 2017. After this, a 14-day voting period will follow commencing at 00:01 on 16 December 2017. Nominations and voting will take place on the main project talkpage: here and here. Thank you for your time. For the co-ordinators, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 08:35, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for December 14
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sherry Gay-Dagnogo, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Nathan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
