Bhaagamathie is an upcoming Indian Telugu and Tamil historical horror thriller film written and directed by G. Ashok. This movie is set to release on 26 January 2018. Its first appearance was launched on Anushka Shetty's birthday on 7 November 2017 and its teaser was launched on 20 December 2017. It features Anushka Shetty in the lead role with Unni Mukundan, Jayaram, and Asha Sarath in supporting roles.[2]S.Thaman is scoring the music for Anushka's Movie. Principal photography commenced in June 2016 in Hyderabad[3].
Plot
The exact story of the film has not been revealed. But in the trailer, (Anushka Shetty) Chanchala IAS is a collector who wants to do good for the villagers in a village and she's also supported by her lover Unni Mukundan but in a turn of events her lover is shot to death and she's framed for a crime that she never committed as a part of a political revenge masterplan plotted by the main culprits. Sanchala IAS who was sentenced and jailed in a prison was transferred to an abandoned palace and was left at the palace for a certain time by Asha Sarath and her team to observe the paranormal activities that are happening in the palace, only to find Sanchala IAS with bruises all over her. Her hands are nailed excessively, and she is holding a hammer, while being possessed by Bhaagamathie (an ancient historical princess) who revealed herself at the end of the trailer as the owner of the palace waiting to exact her revenge for the injustices did to her by those who had betrayed her. So there is speculation that it is going to be a Horror movie or a Supernatural Thriller.[4]
