Haikyu!!

Wildflower is a 2017 Philippine revenge drama television series starring Maja Salvador, together with an ensemble cast.[1][2][3][4] The series premiered on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida evening block and worldwide on The Filipino Channel on February 13, 2017, replacing Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky Season 7 - Mga Kwento ng Dream Team ni Kuya. The series is scheduled to end on February 9, 2018; a total of 260 episodes will have aired at the time of completion.

Plot

The story follows Lily Cruz (Maja Salvador), a beautiful and smart heiress who wants justice for her parents’ deaths by seeking revenge against the evil Ardiente family.[5][6]

Lily Cruz was raised by her parents with love and wisdom. Her mother, Camia, (Sunshine Cruz) was a school teacher while her father, Dante (Christian Vazquez) was a public attorney. Dante's recent case brought threats to their peaceful life, so the Cruz family moved to the small town of Poblacion Ardiente, where they planned to set up a daycare for Camia and Dante's own law firm. Lily easily found friends (including Diego Torillo (Joseph Marco), the youngest son of the Ardiente family). The Ardiente family is the most powerful political dynasty in the town under the rule of Congressman Julio Ardiente (Tirso Cruz III) and his daughter Emilia (Aiko Melendez), Governor of the province. Emilia was married to businessman (and known serial womanizer) Raul Torillo (Wendell Ramos). They have two sons, Arnaldo (RK Bagatsing) and Diego.

Complications followed when Raul became smitten with Camia. This caught Emilia’s attention, who was quite fed up with her husband's indiscretions and many rape charges. Feeling the entitlement of the powerful, Raul attempted to assault Camia, and Dante filed a rape case against him. Unfortunately, the Ardientes do not take threats lightly.

Lily's world crumbled when Dante suspiciously died from a heart attack; she was further crushed when she witnessed her mother’s rape. Though she was targeted to be killed herself, the assassins felt compassion for the 9 year old and freed her instead. Alone with nowhere to go, Lily fends for herself in another city until a wealthy woman named Prianka Aguas (Priscilla Meirelles) rescues her from life in the streets.

Prianka legally adopted Lily and raised her to become tough and independent. Prianka taught Lily to think smart and equipped her with the resources she needed to seek the truth about the Ardientes and justice for her parents. When Prianka died, Lily inherited her fortune. Lily returned to Poblacion Ardiente to avenge her parents.

Lily introduced herself as Ivy Aguas. With her billion dollar conglomerate behind her, she became a magnet for the Ardientes who were preparing their political campaign for the gubernatorial and congressional elections. A power struggle brewed inside the Ardientes between Emilia and Arnaldo. Ivy became reacquainted with Diego, who turned out to be the bastard son of Raul. But as Ivy continued with her plans to expose the Ardientes, she developed feelings for Diego, who renounced the Ardientes and decided to run for Governor as well.

Lily began to execute her intricate plan to bring down the Ardientes; she ingratiated herself with Emilia (as an avid campaign supporter for her political ambitions as she gathered evidence to expose Emilia with plunder charges), seduced Arnaldo (who she realized was the family's weakness) and destroyed his mental state so that he was reduced to an incapacitated state; she pushed Julio Ardiente out of retirement to take him down completely; unfortunately, the Ardientes' power and influence reached the justice system itself. Although she crippled the Ardientes' power base that stripped Julio of his governorship, she was unsuccessful in keeping Julio and Emilia behind bars. Her plan backfired as a new and more formidable enemy emerged called "Red Dragon" who turned out to be Julio’s first wife and Emilia's mother.

Lily’s challenge is to sustain the love in her heart to pave way for forgiveness and justice. That through it all, love conquers evil, love heals, and love forgives.

The main ensemble cast of Wildflower. From left to right: Vin Abrenica (Jepoy Madrigal), Christian Vasquez (Damian Cruz), Zsa Zsa Padilla (Helena Montoya), Tirso Cruz III (Julio Ardiente), Joseph Marco (Diego Torillo), Maja Salvador (Lily Cruz), Sunshine Cruz (Camia Delos Santos-Cruz), RK Bagatsing (Arnaldo Ardiente-Torillo), Aiko Melendez (Emilia Ardiente-Torillo), Wendell Ramos (Raul Torillo) and Roxanne Barcelo (Nathalie Alcantara).
  • Maja Salvador as Lily Cruz / Ivy Aguas - The main heroine and antithesis to the evil and cruelty of the Ardientes. After she escaped Poblacion Ardiente as a little girl, she was adopted by Prianka Aguas, a billionaire-philanthropist, owner of one of the largest property development firm in Asia and a wife of the late Jose Ricardo Mendoza Aguas. Prianka helped her exact revenge on the Ardiente by giving Ivy all the resources available. She raised her to be independent, arming her with all the skills needed to defend herself. When she moved into Poblacion Ardiente as Ivy Aguas, she rekindled her friendship with Diego, her childhood bestfriend while methodically executed her plans for revenge against Ardientes. She is a strong-willed person, vicious, manipulative, cunning, and devious. She is a skilled martial artist and trained fighter, with the ability to hold her own against the goons of the Ardientes. Her hard-headedness is also her weakness as the evil Ardientes are able to keep up with her. She successfully drove Arnaldo insane, but at the expense of Carlota's life. She also successfully gathered evidence against Emilia's corrupt practices as a governor and manipulated the events to turn Julio against her. Her interaction with Emilia in many occasions involve sarcasms and at times end up in violent catfights. Emilia orchestrated a plan with Julio to bury Ivy alive. Ivy was rescued, and used her highly publicized “death” to make a comeback during 100th celebration of Poblacion Ardiente. In this event, she exposed Julio’s cheating, successfully removing him from his seat and lodged cases against him. She revealed her true identity as Lily Cruz, and vowed to use her money and resources to build the Poblacion Ardiente community, despite of the evil schemes of Ardientes and her new enemy, Red Dragon.
  • Tirso Cruz III as Julio Ardiente - A remorseless corrupt political patriarch of Poblacion Ardiente determined to keep his bloodline in power by raising grandson Arnaldo in his likeness. A misogynist, as displayed by his distrust of Ivy Aguas and even his daughter Emilia. His misogynistic behavior was partly rooted in his failed relationship with Helena. Despite Lily Cruz’ efforts to cripple his political power, he managed to keep his governorship. However Helena betrays him to the hands of her henchwomen only for him to be taken away. But he was soon rescued by Arnaldo. Julio is also responsible for killing his ex-wife Helena by blowing the ambulance suddenly in explosion after she was injured by Lily during their hostage trade with Emilia.
  • Zsa Zsa Padilla as Helena Montoya / Red Dragon+1 - She is an enemy of Lily Cruz, who utilized her female foot soldiers called "The Dragon Ladies" to carry out missions to destroy her enemies. Her motivation against Lily is fueled by her association with her (and Julio's) daughter Emilia Ardiente. In public, she is a known successful jeweler and philanthropist who wanted to invest in Poblacion Ardiente and reunite with her long lost daughter Emilia. In the underworld, she is known as a cunning and calculating leader of criminal syndicates that run all over the country and neighboring Asian countries. Her syndicate was foiled by Julio Ardiente who ordered a hit on the Big Four while Lily Cruz successfully incinerated her riches. Left with no choice, she decided to join forces with the Ardientes to take revenge against Lily Cruz. When Emilia manages to take Camia as hostage, she was later subdued and taken hostage by Lily as both she and Emilia successfully trade their beloved mothers. Helena immediately shoots Lily to graze her shoulder as she shoots her in retaliation, injuring her. As she was being taken to a hospital, her ambulance suddenly exploded thus killing her. At the time of her death, Julio coldly berates her for betraying him.
  • Aiko Melendez as Emilia Ardiente-Torillo - Raised in a highly misogynistic and patriarchal family, Emilia’s ambition was to attain power similar to her father and son. She was a corrupt political official who siphoned money from her constituents. She had no qualms in Killing numerous people, ordering a hit man against anyone who went against her. From the start, she mistrusted Ivy Aguas' motives with befriending the Ardientes, and hated her even more as Lily Cruz. After her mother’s arrival in Poblacion Ardiente, she latched on to her organization for power. Emilia was also responsible for fatally shot her own husband and angrily blames Camia and Damian for the accident she made. Therefore, after her mother Helena died at the ambulance explosion when she is about to be taken at the hospital, Emilia swore revenge against Lily. But is unaware that her father Julio was behind the explosion. After making a scene at Raul's interment Julio sends her to be locked up in a mental asylum.
  • Joseph Marco as Diego Torillo - The illegitimate son of Raul, who was raised and treated harshly in the Ardiente household by Julio and his half-brother Arnaldo. As a result of this, he developed a much closer relationship with his nanny Loring, his tutor Camia and his bestfriend Lily Cruz. Unlike the Ardientes, he chose to side with the people of poblacion and ran as governor to defeat the corrupt political institution of Ardientes. He is a risk taker and seized every opportunity to defeat the Ardientes and Red Dragon.
  • Sunshine Cruz as Camia Delos Santos-Cruz / Jasmine - A loving and devoted wife to Dante and mother to Lily Cruz. As a teacher, she offered free education and daycare for the children of Poblacion Ardiente. Her beauty quickly caught the attention of Raul Torillo. Despite the fact that she was a married woman with a family, Raul attempted to sexually assault her. Emilia, Raul's wife, quickly learned about this and retaliated by ordering her henchman to sexually assault and bury her alive. Unbeknownst to Emilia, Raul saved Camia and kept her as a prisoner-slave in a relative's home in another town for a decade. In an attempt to hide her identity, Raul renamed her Jasmine. Jasmine suffered a mental breakdown and was unable to speak. She was rescued and rehabilitated by Ivy Aguas, who randomly ran into her when Jasmine tried to escape. After care and rehabilitation, Camia came back, recognized her daughter, and joined forces with Ivy with her daughter’s plan for revenge. Later, she helped mobilize a campaign team for Diego as governor. In extreme desperation and hatred, Julio tried to kill her but was unsuccessful. After Ivy Aguas revealed her true identity, she stood side by side her daughter in rebuilding Poblacion Ardiente.
  • Wendell Ramos as Raul Torillo / Fake Jaguar+ - He is Diego's and Arnaldo's father, serial cheater, and was mesmerized by the beauty of Camia. As a result, he tried to woo Camia and crossed the line by attempting to sexually assault her. He rescued Camia from being buried alive by Emilia’s henchmen. For over a decade, he hid Camia and changed her identity to Jasmine. His love towards Camia was unrequited. He briefly connived with Nathalie in an attempt to bring down the Ardientes under a concealed identity of a feared criminal boss, Jaguar. He is torn between his love for his sons, and thirst for power. He is full of hatred for his father in law. He disrespects his wife, but has a love/hate relationship with her. He also made peace with Damian after his son Diego allied himself with Red Dragon. Raul later decides to aid his son Diego and Damian in rescuing Lily and Camia from the Ardientes as he remains posing as Jaguar to contact with his wife Emilia until he attempts to stop his wife from attempting to kill Camia and Damian as she fatally shoots him with her red handgun calling him a traitor during the gun struggle. Raul finally reveals himself after Emilia removes his Jaguar mask and became horrified for what she has done as he fails to convince her to change her ways. Before dying, Raul emotionally apologizes to his son Diego for his love between him and Arnaldo and for his hapiness with Lily.
  • Vin Abrenica as Jepoy Madrigal - He is Ivy's childhood friend after she escaped from Poblacion Ardiente. He was a street urchin who rescued Ivy from a pedophile. He later joined Ivy as one of three street urchins that Prianka rescued. He is in love with Ivy and will do anything to keep her safe. He joined Ivy in Poblacion Ardiente, where he worked as the bodyguard of Arnaldo, secretly helping Ivy so she could get valuable intel to penetrate Ardiente's world. His betrayal was soon discovered and was tortured by Julio and Emilia. He escaped with the help of Ivy and Diego. He soon returned to Poblacion Ardiente with Ana Navarro to help execute Ivy's plan. He later joined Jaguar's syndicate to help take down the Ardientes. Nathalie rescued him, and now feels he owes his life to her. Realizing that he is in love with Ana, he asked Nathalie to let go of him.
  • RK Bagatsing as Arnaldo Ardiente-Torillo - The villainous son of Emilia who murdered Carlota Navarro and many other innocent people. He is a psychopath and obsessed with Ivy, who used this to her advantage to push him to madness. Ever since his childhood, Julio had been training and molding him to carry on the political legacy of the family. Ivy intentionally targeted him for this reason to take out the political power of the Ardientes. Suspicious of Ivy's behavior and actions, Arnaldo planned a night alone with Ivy in his yacht, where he attempted to sexually assault her. To save Ivy, Jepoy shot Arnaldo in the head, which led to his comatose state. In the 100th year celebration of Poblacion Ardiente, Ivy surprised the Ardientes with the revelation of her true identity. In the same night, Arnaldo suffered a seizure. Later, he seemed to have recovered, and forgot his evil personality. He became religious, holding bible classes for the house staff, and expressed a desire to become a priest. He ran into Jepoy and Ana who attempted to hurt and kill him, but he didn’t defend himself. Instead, he asked their forgiveness. Confused with this new personality, Lily feels she needs to protect him from the Ardientes. Arnaldo has left the Ardientes and is being kept at a rural farm, brought there by his grandmother, Red Dragon. Arnaldo started to remember his old self and turned to his grandfather for clarity. In an accident while running away from a gunfire shot by Julio, Arnaldo’s memories returned. He is now taking on the vengeful path against his ex faux lover. When his mother Emilia fatally shoots her husband Raul during the gun struggle and was killed, Arnaldo finally berates his father for his trecheary, taking sides against him and his family. He later rescues Julio from Red Dragon's henchwomen after his grandmother Helena betrays her ex-husband. His values were an inspiration for Lily and his murder fueled Lily's wrath against the Ardientes. Later on, it was revealed in the series that Dante had a twin brother: Damian. Unlike Dante, Damian is morally conflicted individual who was previously jailed due to his illegal activities. He is Red Dragon’s best lieutenant and the real Jaguar, a crime boss of the province where Poblacion Ardiente is located. He lent his identity to Raul Torillo as part of a plan hatched by Nathalie, to give Raul an advantage against his father in law. Damian returned to claim his identity but Raul refused to give it up. In a stand-off between the two Jaguars (Raul and Damian) Damian was shot and was unexpectedly rescued by Ivy and Camia. He is attracted to his sister in law who is unaware of his criminal activities, secretly protecting her and her daughter Lily, while he continues to pose as Jaguar behind the scene.
