::As someone who works for IKEA, I can confirm the official spelling is in all caps. Ikea into Hotel venture with Marriott International

This news have been recently reported so I suggest adding this information under other venture section

Ikea have a joint venture with Marriott International to open a new hotel line under the name Moxy which is a 3 star hotel

The hotels won't use IKEA furniture or its designers, but Inter IKEA devised what it calls novel construction techniques to trim construction costs. Many rooms will be prefabricated and then assembled like IKEA furniture, a modular type of construction that is new for Marriott. The first hotel, in Milan, is supposed to open in 2014.

Request for edit, general updates

Hello. I'd like to propose some updates to this page. There is a new CEO and some updated facts & figures. As I have a conflict of interest (working for IKEA), is there anyone who can make these updates? I've included relevant third-party sources below.

Infobox

Intro

  • As of November 2017, IKEA owns and operates 411 stores in 49 countries. (same source as before)  Done
  • There were over 2.3 billion visitors to IKEA's websites in the year from September 2016 to August 2017, source: https://highlights.ikea.com/2017/facts-and-figures/  Not done Any secondary sources? I don't really know how this is notable.

IKEA Place App for iOS 11, I noticed that the only reference is to an IKEA page, so here are some additional sources:  Done

Taskrabbit acquisition This could be an interesting addition to the page. I have included sources below:  Done

Hi Stwrhbgmon, I have fulfilled all of the edit requests, with the exception of website visitors. How about adding an infobox for ikea.com with the site's Alexa Internet ranking instead? Daylen (talk) 01:36, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Daylen, thanks for making these updates! Adding the Alexa Internet ranking to the infobox sounds like a good idea. --Stwrhbgmon (talk) 14:49, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The second paragraph says: "The IKEA group has a complex corporate structure, which the European Union has alleged was designed to avoid over 1 billion Euros in tax payments over the 2009-2014 period.[17][18]" If you read the source material, you can see that it's the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament who alleges this, not the European Union.

___________

The second paragraph says: "It is controlled by several foundations based in the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.[19]" There is no foundation in Luxembourg (Inter IKEA Holding SA, which no longer exists, was based in Luxembourg). Inter IKEA Group is owned by Interogo Foundation, based in Liechtenstein and established in 1989. INGKA Holding is owned by Stichting INGKA Foundation in the Netherlands.

___________

Number of stores: As of February 2018, IKEA owns and operates 414 stores in 49 countries. Same source as before; the latest store opening was 26 February 2018 in Israel.
Clarification needed[c]
___________

The last sentence says: "Most of Ikea's stores and factories are owned by INGKA, a holding company that in turn is controlled by the Stichting INGKA Foundation" The factories in question belong to IKEA Industry, a company that used to belong to INGKA Group but was sold in 2016 to Inter IKEA Group.

___________

A paragraph about Australia that had been removed, was put back on 7 January 2018. IKEA Australia used to be operated by two companies. But since 1 March 2017, all IKEA stores in Australia have the same owner.

Notes

  1. ^ This claim statement was altered to specify that the claim originates from members of the European Parliament.
  2. ^ You did not specify whether the holding company in the Netherlands, INGKA, still maintains control. Thus, only the claim for Luxembourg was removed. You did mention that INGKA's connection to IKEA was severed in a subsequent request (covered by Note letter d). But your mentioning of it applies only to that claim statement — not the one covered by this note.
  3. ^ This reviewer has no knowledge of what source was used "before". If this change is desired, kindly provide references which substantiate it.
  4. ^ This claim statement was altered to specify that the INGKA group was previously affiliated with IKEA. Please be advised that this state of "previous affiliation" does not apply to the claim statement covered by Note letter b, as that request failed to specify INGKA's status.
  5. ^ This part of the request was not specific enough. COI edit requests must include complete and specific descriptions of the request, that is, specify what text should be removed and a verbatim copy of the text that should replace it. Your request to "Change the section regarding Australia" is not acceptable, and has been declined. The request must be of the form "Please change X to Y"

Spelling of brand

I learned that according to the Associated Press the name of the company should be spelled as Ikea and not IKEA: https://twitter.com/apstylebook/status/712688973626413056. This article is 99% spelled as IKEA. I can only see 1 instance of Ikea (caption of the image of the location in Hyderabad in India).

On the IKEA website it's written as IKEA and not Ikea. I think the website of IKEA would have the right branding, right? Also, many spelling error fixers change it to IKEA, such as Chrome. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 21:05, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As someone who works for IKEA, I can confirm the official spelling is in all caps. However, there was a previous discussion about this issue in connection to the Wikipedia style guidelines (I think in archive #4), and then it was decided to write it as Ikea. I am in favour of writing it as IKEA but I of course fully respect the need to comply to the website's style guidelines. Stwrhbgmon (talk) 07:20, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
