History

The original, free game is available on Newgrounds.[1] It was released on 14 May 2009. Created by Mediatonic, who would later create Amateur Surgeon 2 and Amateur Surgeon Hospital,[2] and probably also Surgeon Simulator 2013. --82.170.113.123 (talk) 21:32, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also, apparently the original prototype for the 2013 version was developed in just 48 hours at the Global Game Jam of 2013. The entry is here. --82.170.113.123 (talk) 22:23, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The prototype can still be downloaded from megagames.com. BCreegan (talk) 01:27, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Game may be set in 1987

According to this site: http://surgeon-simulator-2013.wikia.com/, and looking at the page of the main protagonist (Nigel Burke), it reads that "He (Nigel Burke) is a surgeon in 1987". This may tell that the game is set in 1987. Also, you can tell that it is set on that year by looking at his stuff on the main menu (Floppy disks, DOS-like computer, old alarm clock, etc.). 173.169.127.190 (talk) 22:24, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Surgeon Simulator 2013Surgeon Simulator – Per a recent rename of the game by Bossa Studios; it seems they refer the game by the latter name now, jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 05:44, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've just gone ahead and done this, seems uncontroversial. -- ferret (talk) 14:41, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
