Actual title?
[edit]I know this article has the name pegged as being "The Island I Develop with You", due to an article by IGN, but is this official? Ushi No Tane seems to think that it's called "The Island Grows With You". Here's a link: http://www.fogu.com/hm7/
Babelfish translates the name to "Ranch story you the island which is brought up", which is probably the best translation we're gonna get from an online service. I'm just wondering if anyone here can read Japanese and can translate the title for me. Just so I know which is more accurate. Thanks. 88.109.18.196 18:41, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
An accurate translation of the many accurate ones is Harvest Moon: You and the Growing Island. Break-down of Japanese: Kimi = You, to = and, sodatsu = growing, shima = island. 76.175.116.65 (talk) 19:31, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:HMIOHScreenshot.png
[edit]Image:HMIOHScreenshot.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"Situations"?
[edit]This article says, "It may not be released because of situations with HMDS." Can anyone clarify this? CrowstarVaseline-on-the-lens-Jitsu!fwends! 18:03, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Please...
[edit]Don't add info it you don't have a source, and PLEASE don't just make info up. 66.67.148.151 03:52, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
I agree. A lot of this has awful grammar and false info. CrowstarCrow callsTalon Marks 17:08, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Character Info
[edit]Can somebody please edit the character information, WITH the correct names, sources/citations, and grammar? Whoever had the balls to edit some of the characters, they were somewhat off. Erriderate 11:41, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm adding more references. By the way, Ariella's English name really is Alisa, I saw it in a screen shot. 76.175.116.65 (talk) 23:50, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Layout
[edit]The layout of this page is pretty messed up ("Animals" under "Mineral Town Visitors"?). Is that on purpose? 68.3.112.163 (talk) 06:49, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Horrible grammar, spacing, unecessary info, and the like
[edit]Who came in here and changed out most of the English names into the Japanese ones? If you go to Game FAQs there are lots of screen shots of character dialogue, revealing their English name. It's better to use these, especially as the English release is approaching in about a week. Let's act like we own the game, even if some of us don't.
Also, just about every sentence for character descriptions doesn't have spacing between periods and commas! Who did that? I'm correcting it right now. Plus a lot of information and word-structuring doesn't sound encyclopedic.
I'll do my best to fix this. Anyone else notice the quality of this page sinking? 76.175.116.65 (talk) 00:13, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Rivals and wording
[edit]Saying that person B is person A's rival means both A and B are fighting for the same thing. Thus, it's incorrect to say that a male character is a rival of a female character (when playing as a male) when what you really mean is that the male is your rival for the female character.
Stop changing the wording back to say that a male character is a female character's rival and vice versa. It makes the information incorrect. --Eajs (talk) 23:50, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Messed up Article!
[edit]Someone messed up the format... completely. Seriously. Under references there's a table of contents and under Gameplay there are the type of people that can move onto your island. 76.175.116.65 (talk) 19:29, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
Merger discussion
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- To not merge; insufficient evidence of similarity. Klbrain (talk) 18:51, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
I propose merging Harvest Moon DS: Sunshine Islands into Harvest Moon DS: Island of Happiness. The former game is an enhanced re-release of the latter game, plus both articles are fairly short. 100.7.34.111 (talk) 18:38, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Where is the proof that one is a re-release of the other? The game got many separate reviews. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 05:41, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- We defiantly need evidence especially since text in the two articles suggest that Sunshine Isalnds isn’t a remake. The two articles call the games the 3re and 4th DS instalment in the series and Harvest Moon DS: Island of Happiness explicitly calls Sunshine Islands a sequel.--67.70.103.133 (talk) 03:31, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
- I've seen mixed discussion. For example, a GameFAQs member answered whether it was a remake with "yes and no," but clarifying it was more a sequel than a remake. The poster states that there are more characters, the main area is entirely redone, and there are many different areas. Of course, this could be untrue, but without evidence, I'm inclined to disagree with a merge. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 00:28, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
