Copyright problem icon Your addition to Siddharth Shukla has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. A tag has been placed on File:Shehnaz gill.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Hello!

Hi Princepratap1234, it seems you may be struggling a bit with getting the hang of Wikipedia and editing, which is understandable. Wikipedia is easy is some ways and very complex in others. I do suggest reading through the material in the Welcome message I left you (follow the blue links). In addition, I highly recommend the The Wikipedia Adventure which is an interactive tutorial (somewhat like a video game) that walks you through editing and various policies. Also, don't forget that you have your own sandbox that can use to practice (top right, may be under the person icon o n mobile). If I am unsure how to do something, I often try it in my sandbox first. S0091 (talk) 20:14, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Rashami Desai, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Personal life sections

Please don't turn "Personal life" sections into dating histories. [2]. Wikipedia is not a tabloid or some celebrity rag that includes all those lurid details. If it's something that's been going for a while and gets more mainstream coverage, then it can be considered. But "X is dating Y, but used to be with Z" is just not something that should be in Wikipedia. Thanks. Ravensfire (talk) 17:02, 30 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

January 2020

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Shehnaaz Kaur Gill, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. [3] Yes, I know you didn't add it, but you added a template to it when you should just remove it. Ravensfire (talk) 14:42, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder about edit warring

As I noted in response to your report at WP:AN3, if you proceed by here with discussion about your proposed changes at the talk page, then I don't think any further sanctions are needed. However, if you revert the article or otherwise re-add the contested material without gaining consensus, you are subject to being blocked for edit warring. —C.Fred (talk) 15:09, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I want to add, Princepratap, that there is a three-step process at Wikipedia called BRD, which stands for Bold, Revert, Discuss. When you are make a bold change to an article, and it gets reverted, your next step is to open a discussion on the article's talk page to seek consensus for the change you want to make, not to keep restoring it. Nobody's going to die if Sidharth Shukla's TV appearance list is incomplete. You should also consider that since you are new here, there might be other editors who know more about community standards than you do, and you should maybe be receptive to the advice they give you, instead of stubbornly defying them and forcing your preferences into articles. In this case, (based on the discussion on my talk page) Sid's opinion about the content is correct. Talk show interviews are never included in quality filmographies. Wikipedia is not IMDB. It's not our job to log every appearance. If you find other articles with this content, it was submitted by someone who doesn't understand common WikiProject Television procedures. If you want another opinion, ask the community members at WT:TV. And, Sid was also correct that you should not be using Google search links as references. See Referencing for Beginners. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:43, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, re: this edit, we do not use flag icons in infoboxes. See WP:INFOBOXFLAG. Note also that you really should familiarise yourself with the instructions at Template:Infobox person and all the various Infobox templates. In this case, |nationality= of {{Infobox person}} says fairly clearly (See Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:32, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, you need to watch the puffery, please and apply a little common sense to the content you are adding. In these edits[4][5] I removed two claims, 1) that Shukla was the first Asian to win that Turkish model competition. At first glance this seems highly dubious if Turkey straddles Asia and Europe. Surely someone from the Asian side has won, no? Either way, just saying that he was the first Indian to win, is sufficient. 2) It is preposterous to suggest that he was the first Indian to take modelling photos at the Great Wall of China. Think about that for a second. There are probably thousands of Indian models not only in India, but around the world, and it seems totally unlikely that in many decades of photography, that never before was there an Indian model taking photos at the Great Wall. Secondly, the source doesn't even support this, it ruminates that "perhaps", but as common sense would tell us, that seems very unlikely. Please dial back the puffery in this article, please. If you are a huge fan of his, it may be difficult for you to edit this article objectively. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:46, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This is not Turkish model competition , it is Gladrags Manhunt competition which was held in Turkey at that time and in reference it is clearly mentioned 1st asian. Princepratap1234 (talk) 18:51, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, you have responded to my first comment twice, and not even in the correct discussion section.[6] I have moved these for you. Secondly, where can I see a complete list of all the people who won the Gladrags Manhunt "Best Model of the World" title? Also, was Shukla a student of this modelling school? Mass removals of unsourced

Please slow down on this mass-removal of unsourced material from articles. Much of it, especially significant awards, can be sourced pretty easily. Look at Sidharth Shukla - the award section is mostly unsourced but it's not removed, the section is tagged. It's getting disruptive. Please stop. Ravensfire (talk) 16:36, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Along with that, you've removed a LOT of awards from articles because they don't have a linked article. Why does Shukla still have the Golden Petal awards? See the point I'm making? Sometimes, tagging something that has been in the article for a while is the best approach. If it's recently added, removal is often more appropriate. Ravensfire (talk) 19:31, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ultimately, here's the point that the IP made below and that I'm trying to make. When you remove similar information from lots of articles, other editors will look at the articles you edit often. When they see you're using a totally different standard on the articles you edit a lot, there will be complaints and justifiably so. It's showing some bias on your part. Slow down some, relax, rather than just remove everything, think about taking the time to find the sources especially when you know they exist. Ravensfire (talk) 21:19, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

English typography, grammar, and MOS.

Re: [7] here, per basic rules of English typography, grammar and Wikipedia MOS formatting:

34th ,33th ,44th and 41th in The Times 50 Most Desirable Men list in 2013 ,2014 ,2017 and 2018.
should be
34th, 33rd, 44th and 41st in The Times 50 Most Desirable Men list in 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018.

Please note the differences in bold. There is no space before a comma, but there is a space after one. Same with periods. "33th" is meaningless. It should be "33rd" as the "rd" is the last part of "thirty-third". Same with 41th, which should be "41st" as the "st" is the last part of "fourty-first". And, since The Times refers to Times of India, it should be italicised. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:24, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Hi User:Princepratap1234 I have noticed that u removed the appearances for all tv actors where there was an reliable source and when it came to Sidharth Shukla the guest appearances have not been removed. I understand ur a Shukla fan but many actors like Sanaya Irani and Hina Khan had appearances why remove them when I they had sources. So please get them back. Or if not remove the guest appearances in Shukla page as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:4C8:62:2038:55D9:2A69:A2BC:B46B (talk) 18:21, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I see I'm not the only one that's noticed this. Ravensfire (talk) 19:34, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ravensfire: Are guest appearances typically tracked in filmographies? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:28, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Cyphoidbomb, honestly, that's probably a good question for teh TV wiki project / film wiki project. I've seen them, but *should* they be is an entirely different question. Ravensfire (talk) 21:15, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I can't imagine that one-time appearances on talk shows would be of any value. I'm even skeptical of appearances on reality shows, unless they are participating in the show. Judging seems extraneous. I would hope that the chief reason for filmographies to exist is to track their creative works, not to track every appearance on TV. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:06, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
