This article have one occurrence where "iPhone" is spelled with a lower letter 'i' after a sentence and one vice versa.

"Minimum operating system support lifespan"

Just wanted to let you guys know that this OS support table is completely inane. What the hell Operating system support/Lifespan/min column tracks, why it's in bold and what does "> 0 months" value means for iphone XS? 2604:4080:1035:85F0:D488:BFAD:938B:FE71 (talk) 18:04, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

apple has the best product support of any tech company out there (factory reset by internet, even for devices a decade or more old): all of there devices are still working. also: most old devices still inter-operate with the newest OS and devices. there customer service is un-rivaled

only a troll from a competing company would make such a claim as "not supported" without showing evidence of a failed unit — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:143:400:547B:E9A9:7B:655B:D7F (talk) 00:45, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

All is not Swell !

Apple is not alone in the "swelled battery issue", infact samsung was stung, also microsoft surface, every thin device has been broken by them.

The battery swells putting immense pressure on the glass - by 3 yr time the pressure is extremely high and any "gentle drop" on edge will cause a crack not due to the glass (which is amazingly tough and thick for a light weight product), but due to EXTREME pressures that cannot be seen until after the drop causes the latches to allow the screen to bow out. You'd think you'd see it bend out - but due to the clamping it will not be seen until dropped and an edge crack appears.

It happens with all phone and laptop batteries from any mfg Not Just Apple and is only a matter of time. About 3 yr. If you think you didn't get a defective battery you are fooling yourself reading propaganda.

Google China has blocked all news about fixing other than to order a new battery from china (same people who create the problem battery). Go figure.

I have found using a pin head (carefully) to puncture the battery to let out the gasses does work, despite a huge effort by china to deny everywhere on the web such a thing could work. Also: many articles suggest the swollen batteries are not due to gas inflation: but they are. Other articles suggest that you will be shocked and create a fire if you do not do as they say. I fixed mine (popped the bubble) while the phone was on and lit. I see no change in battery status: still works fine. With a $3 scredriver and a few minutes my cell will last another (year or so) till i'm ready to upgrade. The screen does not fit "perfect" but sits down pretty well. I can't say i was "very careful" i might have puncture a layer of battery film btw: but i suggest you NOT do that for obvious cautious reasons. There were no sparks or fire by simply letting the air out: no.

I remind the doubters that most batteries are packaged in CARDBOARD (ie, including dewalt and makita tools) - these can breath through the cardboard you see.

I've left this note because "big media" is so good at blocking the news and propagandizing I think it deserves to be shown in public.

All is well that ends swell. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:143:400:547B:E9A9:7B:655B:D7F (talk) 01:02, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Operating system support - Lifespan

The meaning of the columns "Lifespan min. / max." in the table "Operating system support" cannot be understood at first glance. I would recommend adding a legend below the table. Similarly, Lifespan refers to the time period during which Apple provides software updates. The min is the time period for a device purchased on the last, and max is the time period for a device purchased on the first official day of sale. In my opinion, Lifespan is not applicable either, since the devices are still alive, they just don't get support anymore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.79.188.213 (talk) 10:34, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
