Welcome

Hello Doge1941 and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions, such as the ones to Hurricane Wilma, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a Help desk, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! ~ Destroyeraa🌀 15:49, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

November 2020

Information icon Hello, I'm TornadoLGS. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, 2005 Atlantic hurricane season, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. TornadoLGS (talk) 04:41, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Hurricane Laura. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Please don't add false information.Template:Z187 ~ Destroyeraa🌀 15:50, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Hurricane Eta. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. TornadoLGS (talk) 19:22, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ok thank you! Doge1941 (talk) 19:26, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not attack other editors, as you did at User talk:Destroyeraa. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Avoid calling other editors "toxic" just because they hold their own opinions. Remember to stay civil. ETA eye

Yes, saying that the eye was the smallest, beating Wilma, is original research unless backed by a source. Thanks for removing it. ~ Destroyeraa🌀 01:12, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It was 3 times larger then Wilma, in fact. --HurricaneTracker495 (talk) 01:45, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@HurricaneTracker495: Some IP added it, gave a gentle note about unsourced info. Thanks Doge for removing it, and I hope you continue to edit hurricane articles while not putting any Force Thirteen information in. Cheers. ~ Destroyeraa🌀 02:07, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Understood thanks! Doge1941 (talk) 15:27, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

December 2020

Information icon Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, which you did not do on User talk: HurricaneCovid. Please read WP: NOTVANDALISM before accusing other editors of vandalism. Thanks. HurricaneTracker495 (talk) 18:31, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm ok but I'm still a bit sketchy about that one. Doge1941 (talk) 18:34, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Doge1941: Sorry about the misunderstanding, but it was me who originally put those edits in. -Shift674- (talk) 19:42, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's ok everyone makes mistakes including me :). Just remember to not make the same mistake again :D Doge1941 (talk) 19:56, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WP:OR notice

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Hurricane Zeta, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. It also appears you performed a similar action at Tropical Storm Gamma (2020). Hurricaneboy23 (page) * (talk) 19:18, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh...but in the Eta article it says there could be a possibility that it was a C5 but idk Doge1941 (talk) 23:08, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Because there is a reliable source cited for it being a Cat 5 (not a C5).--Jasper Deng (talk) 01:09, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
