DYK for Ate my Balls

Hi mate, happy to help you with Ate my balls and getting it to DYK but I'm just going to give you fair warning, because the hook I propose can be taken to be sexually explicit it is going to get an extra level of scrutiny so we'd better be certain everything is in order with it. Also, you may have to prepare for a fight to back up using it. There's nothing wrong with it under DYK April Fools rules but just be prepared because i've had it happen to me many times before for the same reasons that people will just try to find minor reasons to obstruct it. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 15:51, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK, sounds good, thanks for the heads up. I remembered this had been deleted years ago for ridiculous reasons, and finally decided to rescue it the other day. It's funny how prudish people can be over an ancient silly meme from the 1990s. ♟♙ (talk) 15:59, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

About Flor Amargo - j'adoube?

Hi EnPassant. I think Flor Amargo should be moved to Daft:Flor Amargo rather than outright speedy deletion. I would appreciate your opinions about this. Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 11:59, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever seems to have happened with it looks fine to me. When it was created it was a BLP with no sources that didn't make a tangible claim of notability. It appears to have a couple sources now. ♟♙ (talk) 19:37, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Simon City Royals, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Turf war. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Review of AFS, draft Ishan Pandita

Hi, friend I guess you are on wikipedia since long, I need you help. There is an Indian footballer whose page is been created by me and same time it's in Draft Article for submission as well. We are awaiting someone for reviewing it. Could you please do that. Vishalttplayer (talk) 08:22, 7 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I don't know a lot about football, unfortunately. It appears this article was deleted. ♟♙ (talk) 20:17, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In use tag

Hello, coming here while you commented on my behaviour some time ago at ANI. Don't know whether you have the time for it, but could you take a peek at the recent edit history of the BWV 8 article? Would be ever so grateful. If I add an {{in use}} tag, it has been removed a handful of times over the last week, sometimes hardly after I started editing. There have been edit conflicts, some of which have been clarified on the article's talk page. If I'm not handling this correctly, please let me know. Tx. --Francis Schonken (talk) 08:35, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Now a similar issue at the BWV 53 article. --Francis Schonken (talk) 12:31, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Which, BTW, still continues on that page. --Francis Schonken (talk) 12:18, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
A substantial contribution of mine (over 2000b of content and references to reliable sources) on the same page has now been wholesale deleted (including the {{in use}} I placed), I'm at a loss how to handle this. I'd like some help on this question: can I invite someone with whom I'm in a IBAN to participate in a WP:BRD cycle? I like the idea behind the BRD cycle, but wouldn't it be too presumptuous to invite someone to "revert" (R) or "discuss" (D), when they can do neither, so that only "being bold" (B) remains as a step? I'd think BRD is not something that works between IBANned editors, but if you think my approach to this is not sound and/or I can participate in a BRD with an IBANned co-editor, please let me know. Thanks. --Francis Schonken (talk) 08:14, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not related to any {{in use}} tag, some indecorous reverting at Sexuality of Chopin. --Francis Schonken (talk) 09:17, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Francis, I'm not really in a position to help very much here. If you think the IBAN has been violated, you should probably have a look at WP:BANEX and follow the process there in contacting someone. ♟♙ (talk) 18:50, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. Saw your #Question (and the reply to it) below. Thanks, was helpful. --Francis Schonken (talk) 19:15, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The backup of an article I had composed but was deleted

Hi EnPassant,
Thank you for your time and effort to keep Wikipedia sustainable.
I had started an article titled "Robert Mickle" on Nov 3rd. The same day I received an email from you notifying me that I should improve the article otherwise it would be deleted in seven days. Unfortunately I was struggling with serious problems and couldn't make it on time. After Nov 10th, I saw it was deleted. I felt upset. I had spent a few hours doing research online and composing that article.
Robert (1925-2009) was an activist I knew in person and admired. I would like to continue editing that article for improvement. Where can I find/access a backup of my draft? Please help.
Thank you,
Mehmet

Re: Nicholas Alahverdian

Hi. Regarding your edit here, this removal is only allowable if the article Nicholas Alahverdian is deleted. While a validly formulated article about the deceased still exists, so do their entries in the Deaths pages. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 10:58, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article about him is a purported hoax. Also, the provided source on that page fails WP:VER, so it's an unsourced entry. There's no such thing as "only allowed" regarding this. ♟♙ (talk) 18:04, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Editor consensus within the Deaths pages says you're wrong about allowable and non-allowable content and editing parameters. Project editors of every stripe decide between themselves what is acceptable within each project, and always have done. Please consult editors at the Deaths Talk page if you need further clarification on what they do or don't allow. You really do need to get his article deleted if you wish to go further on this (and I fail to understand why you do not appear to have submitted it already if it so offends you). As for the source, remove it if it is unreliable, banned or discouraged according to the list at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources#Sources and another will be supplied - other than that, exceeding the three-revert rule by repeating such edits in Deaths in February 2020 is not advisable. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 06:30, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
WP:VER is as much a policy as WP:CONSENSUS is, but I'm not going to fight with you over it. If you want to know more, join the talk page discussions at the main article. ♟♙ (talk) 20:54, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Hi, I'm asking this for another person, and actually for my own edification as well, though I'm not under an IBAN. Is there an accepted manner for someone under an IBAN to report the other bannee for violating the IBAN? ♟♙ (talk) 21:20, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As explained at WP:BANEX, the procedure is to contact an administrator and indicate that the violation took place. Personally, I prefer e-mail contact in such cases (without even using {{You've got mail}}) to minimize the appearance of inappropriateness, but that's just me. 78.28.44.204 (talk) 04:18, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Ate my balls

On 1 April 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ate my balls, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Mr. Spock ate my balls? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ate my balls. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Ate my balls), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
