"I'll Cry Instead" is a song by The Beatles from their album A Hard Day's Night (album). The lead vocal is performed by John Lennon. In the original 1964 release of the film as well as the DVD versions of the film, the song doesn't appear. However, the VHS version of the film has the song as part of a brief montage before the opening credits. The are two different versions of the song with variation in length. One version runs 1:49 and the long version runs 2:09. This song has been played in concert by Billy Joel and Paul Burch.
