Intersex and other categories
I just removed a 'see also' link to List of fictional genderqueer characters. A link to that article is not warranted more than a 'see also' link to a list of transgender characters, or a list of gay characters. It is not warranted as much as a 'see also' link to a list of Intersex people. Intersex and genderqueer are different things, anyone getting them confused might wish to explore the numerous photographs at intersexday.org. Trankuility (talk) 23:04, 14 November 2015 (UTC)
- I included it mainly because they might be easily confused by people not knowledgeable with LGBT topics (mainly sex and gender distinction). I never really know if it is appropriate to add a second hatnote or not. Would adding the following below the current hatnote work better?
- It depends how much/if intersex is regarded as an LGBT topic, and if intersex is a non-binary sex. There is no consensus on the former and the latter seems at odds with the reality. Adding a link at the bottom of the page (as you have done) is likely sufficient and avoids WP:UNDUE. Trankuility (talk) 21:06, 16 November 2015 (UTC)
- Eh, alright, just trying to minimize confusion ^_^ ~Mable (chat) 21:11, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

intersex characters in video games
Hello Wikipedians! I'm new to this, but I believe we should add a video games category. there's a heap of intersex video games characters the first example that comes to mind is Vivec from The Elder Scrolls, who is both non-binary and intersex [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.83.139.11 (talk) 13:38, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not surprised that there are such characters. If you are going to add intersex characters and a video game section, both of which I would support, they should have reliable sources (not just some fandom page) to show they are intersex.--Historyday01 (talk) 16:35, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

Proposal to change the page name and possible reorganization
So, @User:Xentyie, @User:HalfOfDwarf, @User:Adipup, @User:Pyxis Solitary, @User:Kingsif, @User:Trankuility, @User:Alison, @User:GorillaWarfare, and anyone else who wants to participate, I was thinking of changing the page name to "List of fictional intersex characters (currently only a redirect)". There is already a precedent for this, with pages such as List of fictional bisexual characters, List of fictional asexual characters, List of fictional lesbian characters, List of fictional pansexual characters, List of fictional trans characters, and List of fictional non-binary characters. I was also thinking that the page could be reorganized like those pages, with sections for animation/anime, film, literature, live-action television, video games, webcomics, and so on, like the list for asexual characters. What are your thoughts? --Historyday01 (talk) 03:51, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Since there's more than just the list, I'd be opposed, but willing to listen to arguments (what's the precedent with those other pages, for example). Kingsif (talk) 13:43, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- What would happen to the prose? Perhaps a split would be better? GorillaWarfare (talk) 14:33, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- If you can find some way to split the pages without having the original be left as a stub, then I wouldn't be opposed to it. - ✨Adipup✨ (talk) 14:44, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Kingsif, I see what you are saying. I would say that the other pages are organized mainly around the characters, like this one, except those are put into different categories, and its not done alphabetically. Instead, entries are chronological, but the characters are the main focus. Each category has its own specific format, related to the type of media it is. At least that's how its been organized on the pages I mentioned for now.
- In terms of the prose, @GorillaWarfare, if we followed the model of those other pages, then it would remain, but just be at the end under a section named "background." At least that's how I've organized the List of fictional bisexual characters, List of fictional asexual characters, and List of fictional lesbian characters for the time being. In terms of splitting the page, @✨Adipup✨, the page is pretty small in terms of the number of bytes and splitting it could create a stub. Here's the section sizes currently.

- I would be ok with split, but only if more content was added... until then, I'm not sure about it. Historyday01 (talk) 15:23, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- I'd be fine with that or with a split. Honestly I don't really see the problem with creating a stub, it might encourage people to expand the article, which I imagine could be substantially expanded if someone put some time into it. GorillaWarfare (talk) 16:08, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

- Hmm, that is a good point.Historyday01 (talk) 16:09, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- I'm leaning more towards a split with/without a stub, and a cross-link between both pages. I think there's more than enough to warrant an article - particularly on what Morgan points out re. tropes - but the list nature of the current page has meant that the focus has been more list and less article. Splitting it will change the focus in a positive way. Just my two cents - Alison ❤ 19:36, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Alison, that makes sense. We have most in favor of the split, so I'm willing to split it at this point. I know I said that if more content would be added, but that section can be its own article. If I split it off, what would that split page be called? Perhaps Intersex characters and tropes? Also, if that page was split off, do you think this page should be moved to "List of fictional intersex characters", currently only a redirect or should the page have the same name? Historyday01 (talk) 22:24, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- I know you're replying to Alison, but my suggestion would be to keep the prose at Intersex characters in fiction and split the list to List of fictional intersex characters. GorillaWarfare (talk) 22:28, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- I'm with GorillaWarfare on this one. Just leave the name as-is, and fork out the list :) - Alison ❤ 03:47, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Alison and @GorillaWarfare, I could do that. Sounds like a plan. Historyday01 (talk) 17:41, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

- Sure! Glad you think so. Historyday01 (talk) 21:11, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
