Orphaned fair use image (Image:5391-1.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:5391-1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Templates
I see that you have started creating templates for county information. If you would please follow how they were estabished such as Winnebage County, Illinois, this will keep us all on the same page. We established this one with the Illinois group after seeing how other states are doing theirs. Let me know if you have any questions, or Dual Freq since he is creating them. Thank you!--Kranar drogin 12:10, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- I will get with them then about these, and make sure that we have a standard that all of them are following. Honestly, there is no reason to put population sizes down, just list the cities and click them if you want to see the population, know what I mean? I'll keep you posted if you aren't part of the Illinois Project.--Kranar drogin 21:55, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- We started discussing it on the Portal Talk Page, but I just started a new one one the Template Talk Page if you are interested in giving your view. Make sure you check out the Main Page to see all of the county templates.--Kranar drogin 15:15, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
I am a bit disappointed that you deleted a number of interesting points of interest and major highways in the Kane County template. I would be interested in learning your reasonsRacepacket 00:56, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Algonquin, Illinois
I saw you marked Algonquin, Illinois as reading like a tourism guide, having peacock terms, etc. Your main issues in this respect relate to the lead of the article, right? Just wanting to know what to fix. Thanks. I will also try to work so everything's not a bulleted list as well, and reads more like an article. Abog 02:48, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- The first paragraph is fine now. Thanks for cleaning it up. Under Recreation, you might want to change "Nevertheless, the quality of parks, trails, and programs is nearly unmatched." If you find any magazine articles or websites that you can reference at the bottom, it would make claims in the article more legitimate. And yes, it would be good to convert some of the bulleted lists to paragraphs. --Vossanova o< 15:08, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Aerosmith's outtakes
An editor has nominated Aerosmith's outtakes, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aerosmith's outtakes and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. New WikiProject Illinois Collaboration Division
Hey, saw you were a participant in the Illinois WikiProject. I thought I would let you know that there is a new Collaboration Division up for the project. The goal of the division is to select an article or articles for improvement to Good article standard or higher. There is a simple nomination process, which you can check out on the division subpage, to make sure each candidate for collaboration has enough interested editors. This is a good way to get a lot of articles to a quality status quickly. Please consider participating. More details can be seen at the division subpage. IvoShandor 11:32, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Re:Lake in the Hills neighborhoods
I do not doubt that the info you are putting up there is accurate, BUT in order for this page to become a legit page there has to be information citable for each and every fact that is posted. I mean, you can leave it up there, that is fine, you will just have to find webpages or maps or anything that is citable for the article. Until the information is confirmed, the article will never really get above a START accessment, so I am trying to help you by putting that tag up there for anyone with information or links to cite the info. That is all, not a personal slight or anything of that nature. I look at all articles as someday reach atleast "B" grade, so I would rather have the cites now rather than later. I am sure you can find something about that place on the net.--Kranar drogin 20:34, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Michael Jackson
Hello, I just wanted to let you know that the "King of Pop" label for Michael Jackson is cited later on in the article. I explained this in my revert as well. Furthermore, as I also explained in the revert, the whole point of including it in the lead without a citation is that it's such a famous nickname that the general public would be able to recognize it. Citations are generally useful when a point of controversy might arise, a scenario that does not apply here.UberCryxic 04:56, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Regarding edits to Aerosmith's achievements and awards
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Abog! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule \bangelfire\.com\/, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links policy for more information. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Shadowbot 07:01, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Bon jovi living in sin.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Bon jovi living in sin.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:50, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Aerosmith image
You seem to be very, very unfamiliar with our fair use policy. I am afraid that it is broken- we are using a non free image, when it is not absolutely necessary. We are here to create a free encyclopedia- not gather pretty images from around the Internet. J Milburn 18:17, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- I am afraid you are wrong. Even if there were no obvious replacements available, because an image could reasonably be created, our fair use policy does not allow the one we currently have. Your argument about it being only a guideline is a valid one, I suppose. Perhaps if you had provided a full, detailed, correctly formatted fair use rationale to the image in question, with details about why this conveys information that a free image could never do, we would be talking more about whether this particular case is an exception. As it stands, saying 'It is only a guideline, so I don't care.' Isn't going to get you anywhere. Replacing the image with just the logo would be an option- obviously, no free version of that could be created, yet it deserves a place within the article. J Milburn 18:53, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- I have re-added the deletion tag, as well as adding a tag to say that you disagree with the deletion nomination. Allow the deletion procedure to run its course. You may also want to state your case on the image talk page. J Milburn 21:12, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Round and Round (Aerosmith song)
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Round and Round (Aerosmith song), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. --DCrazy talk/contrib 13:25, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

This page contains a gallery of copyrighted album covers. This is against our fair use rules, as I have explained in detail here. Normally, I would just remove the images, but this page has formatting which would not convert well to list format, and so I ask that you rewrite the page as a table, without the images. If this isn't done in a few days, I will remove the images myself, and convert the gallery into a clumsy list. J Milburn 16:29, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- I am not against the use of album covers in articles about the albums, or the use of a few inline elsewhere, where it is appropriate. However, a gallery of fair use images, which is what we have in a discography article that shows the cover of every release by the band, is blatantly against Wikipedia's policies. Just because something is fair use in one place, does not mean that it is not fair use in another. I have already consulted several other administrators (if that is what you mean by the 'top dogs') on the subject, and they all agreed with me. My reason for the removal of these images (not their deletion, I agree they are needed, in some places) is not the fact that other discography articles do not have them, it is because it is against our fair use rules. Our rules aren't even the most stringent- de.wikipedia does not even allow fair use images. These album covers do not help us towards our goals- nowhere in our fundamental principles and targets does it say that the articles have to be pretty. It does say they have to be as free as possible, and so that is the goal I am aiming for in these image removals. J Milburn 17:12, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Firstly, articles should contain absolutely minimal fair use material. This is not a crakdown 'all of a sudden', it is just me seeing a problem and trying to fix it. Often, Wikipedians get into bad habits, and people just accept it, because they can't be bothered doing anything about it, or have other priorities. As for your 'fair use in one place, so fair everywhere'- I am afraid you are just wrong there. We can't just place a picture everywhere because it is fair use on one article- in fact, for every article it is used in, there needs to be a detailed fair use rationale of why it is fair in that particular article. Also, I am not quite sure how you think that I am not making the encyclopedia more free- on some discography pages, most of the article is taken up by non-free pictures- deleting them certainly makes it more free. Galleries of fair use images are strictly not allowed- I will say it again, as I mentioned in the essay- this is very similar to the episode list debate. That eventually came to the conclusion that the images were definately not allowed, and there was large scale removal. There is no large scale removal here, just me clipping them back where possible, and perhaps a few other users cleansing if they come across one by chance. J Milburn 17:06, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use disputed for Image:Image:JaniesGotaGun.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Image:JaniesGotaGun.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:30, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
