Hello

Greetings, the holi-hangover continues! --Bhadani 07:14, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I did

I did redirec thte "official mods" and "unofficial mods" because I don't think that they don't deserve their own article. It would be very short (stub-worthy) and much better placed in the main article. Just make a header in the AOW article listing mods and links to them. Hbdragon88 16:17, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I reiterate my point that lists of stuff do not deserve their own article. It is better putin the main article. Hbdragon88 00:46, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

It was nice to see your message. I want to be inactive but fail to do so. Wikipedia is like an addiction. How are you? Chennai is fine as usual! --Bhadani 13:03, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Homeworld Reference Removal

Hi, I was wondering why you took Homeworld and its manual out of the list of references for Homeworld. It would seem they are the most relevant and reliable sources of information. Please explain your actions. --Twile 20:55, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see how links could be provided for them. Homeworld is a game. Its manual is a booklet. They don't have web links that let you access the information obtained from them.--Twile 21:22, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The references aren't for any particular fact or quote, they're for the whole plot, summary, etc etc. --Twile 21:36, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think it should be included just so people don't think the info was made up. If you want to help, great. I'm working on a ship template right now.--Twile 21:50, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Project updates
Greetings, Star Wars editors! Deckiller here. It's the first edition of the WikiProject Star Wars newsletter, and yes, it's a semi-ripoff of the Esperenza newsletter. I think it's important to begin with some good news: Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and Jabba the Hutt have reached featured article status! Kudos to the editors who helped obtain these achievements!

WikiProject Star Wars is also on a mission to improve Star Wars articles using the following ideas:

  • An out of universe perspective versus an in universe perspective (see Wikipedia:Writing about fiction and the future ammendments to our manual of style)
  • Evolving lists into regular articles
  • Moving excess information and specifics to Wookieepedia (and providing links to Wookieepedia per the "see also" and/or "external links" sections)
  • Enhanced communication amongst WikiProject members
  • More to come

These should provide the basic steps needed to improve and "encyclopedia-fy" the Star Wars series of articles.

Things to do
There are plenty of Wikipedia:WikiProject Star Wars/things to do. An update to the page is coming very soon, and it will represent the new and exciting changes that Star Wars pages will be receiving!
Out-of-universe versus in-universe perspectives
Although details are forthcoming, I would like to take this time to explain the gist of this concept. Wikipedia has generally agreed that fictional articles should write about the topic from a "real world" perspective, focusing on real world issues and topics, with a section or two for plot synopsis and so on. Jabba the Hutt is a solid character example, and Clone Wars (Star Wars) is quickly moving toward an out of universe perspective.
Article evolution

As many of you know, lists of minor Star Wars-related themes are very common on Wikipedia; however, since these may be seen as violations of Wikipedia policy (and having seperate articles would breach even more policies), the tentative solution is to create general articles on a list's topic (for example, turning List of Star Wars devices into Technology of Star Wars, which allows us to cover everything from hyperspace to comlinks in a general encyclopedic fashion). This can be very tough for some broad topics, so the key is organization. I encourage all editors to list their ideas on the WikiProject talk page. It will be a very difficult — but tangible — effort.

For an example, let me point you to the Final Fantasy WikiProject. Some of us over at that WikiProject decided to turn various components of Final Fantasy X, such as Pyreflies, Yevon, and the backstory — into an article describing the world of Spira. Location descriptions were given a List of locations in Spira article, and the details themselves were placed on the Spira (Final Fantasy X) page. This is a decent template to follow — however, we will need to place priority on out-of-universe, "real life" topics and perspectives in realtion to the article.

Sounds confusing, eh? It won't, for examples will be popping up left and right in the near future!

Empty articles

Hi. Please do not create empty article (which consist only of a category or external link), as they would be deleted according to the wikipedia policy. If you create a new article, try to put in more content. Thank you. bogdan 11:55, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks

I noticed that you brought the "Editions and pricing" table from Windows Vista over into the Microsoft Office 2007 article. Thanks! I made that table... glad to see someone liked it enough to replicate it on another page. :-) -/- Warren 02:56, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why have 2 pages for Malayalam actors and Malayalam-language film actors.1 page will do.Both are for Malayalam actors , can we merge it into one? .Harlowraman

Okay Thanks i agree it is better to have it as Malayalam Actors

Yes as Malayalam actors.

Reverts to Splinter Cell

Sorry about the revert. At first glance it appeared as if you just blanked the requirements section. I have added your requirements back to the info box but still left the larger PC Requirements section in the article as there appears to be a lot more information there then what you moved to the info box. Edit summaries

I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! —Vanderdeckenξφ 12:35, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Christianity question

I noticed you took out some "related projects" content to the WP:Christianity site. I'm not arguing with you, I would just like to know why these other religions can't be included in the related section? Yes, the project is for Christianity, and yes, Muslim and Islam religions aren't strictly 'Christian' per se, but they are a religion and they are somewhat related to Christianity.... Just wondering, not trying to cause any problems or anything.... Thanks! NDCompuGeek 00:35, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Need your help.

Hey. Do you know where i can get help to reduce the size of this article or can you help rename this to lowercase. Look at this article —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SkyWalker (talkcontribs) 20:22, 21 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I did a bit. Please create more pages and do more edits. Thanks. --Bhadani 20:50, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good call. I hadn't thought of it, but it looks much cleaner that way. Georgewilliamherbert 21:41, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reasoning?

Any reason why you deleted a whole bunch of fansites and reference links from the Alan Wake page? You left all but one fansite link and some of the ones you deleted off were actually the leading fansites for the game. I would like to know your reason behind this please, if I don't get a response in 48 hours I will readd them all back. Saiger 21:07, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Update

I have re-added the fansites and reference links you deleted off the page. Please in the future do NOT delete information without researching or validating the links. Saiger 19:13, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have reported your actions to an admin -- continously deleting ALL links is not the correct way of going about this. Saiger 23:00, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have been contacted by an admin and I will discuss this with the official Alan Wake community site on which links should be cut and which should be kept. In the future I would really appreciate if you would put proper reasoning rather than saying "Spam links" and when asked about it saying your reason after I give you 48 hours grace and also then straight away going and deleting ALL the links, which acts as vandalism. Thankyou.Saiger 23:16, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

The vandals give me a headache. Thank you so much for catching the vandalism to the Langston Hugehs article.TonyCrew 03:44, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kara Borden

Just so you know, the link you gave for the birthday for Kara Borden is actually the date that the wikipedia article gave when it was last cached. To quote it directly, under the birthday listed it says: "According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kara_Borden". Please find a proper source and source it, as this is mandatory per Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Thank you. Cowman109Talk 20:24, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Munishk Gupta

Good job spotting that one. I've deleted the article and given the user a warning. When it about obviously non-notable people, you can add a tag like {{db-bio}} to the article, and an administrator would soon check the article and take action. More specific tags can be placed, depending on the article, as listed at WP:CSD. Also, if he keeps adding his name to the Gupta page again, just report his username/ip to WP:AIV, after warning them through suitable templates from WP:TM. That will guarantee speedy action. Cheers!--thunderboltz(Deepu) 10:02, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Medievaltotalwar2boxshot.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Medievaltotalwar2boxshot.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Ruth Wilson

hey, just wondering why you keep removing those two links? Amo 09:27, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, i hadn't realised that site was "under constuction". I didn't know you weren't supposed to link to Yahoo. Can't see anything about it here - is there official precedent?|||| —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Amoammo (talkcontribs) 09:41, 6 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

ah, ok. but the fansite that is still linked is ok? Amo 10:35, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do I understand that the reason for for removing the two links is because one is still under construction (RuthWilson.info) and the YahooGroup is a Wikipedia convention not to link to it? If so, I will redo your link removal edits assuming that once the non-Yahoo fan site is live it can be added back to the wikipedia page. Is this all correct?

Also why is wikipedia not supposed to link back to Yahoo? I am curious.

Crysis

Hey thanks for helping. I am new to Wikipedia and don't know how to put tags on pictures. I got them from Crysis-Online.com and I even emailed the webmaster and he said that it would be wonderful If I used some of the pictures on the website. Thanks again for your help. --Buffonitaly 15:58, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question.

Hey could you check this link. If you see carefully all video is linked to youtube. It seems to be a full video. It is illegal to post copyright video in wikipedia. Should i add a delete tag or you going to delete or should it be like this?. --SkyWalker 07:03, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have copied this to my sandbox :) I find that only links to the full video has been posted in Wikipedia, and perhaps it is not any infringement of copyright. Uploading the full video to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons without the permission of copyright holders will be a violation of copyright. However, you are requested to seek opinions of others too. Thanks. --Bhadani 08:13, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did you also take off that reed was engaged to that chick. Ive taken it off like 12 times and it keeps getting put back up there.
