The 2013 Australian Youth Olympic Festival was the sixth edition of the Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF). It was held from 17–21 January 2013.

Athletes from 30 nations competed at the 2013 AYOF, either independently or in the Combined Oceania or International Triathlon Union teams.

Athletics

Australia, Brazil, China, and New Zealand participated in the competition held on 18–19 January 2013, involving finals only for 40 track and field events:Athletics

Men’s - Track (12): 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 110m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, 2000m Steeple, 5000m Walk, 4x100m Relay, Swiss Medley Relay (100m, 200m, 300m and 400m)

Men's - Field (8): High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw, Javelin Throw

Women’s - Track (12): 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 100m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, 2000m Steeple, 5000m Walk, 4x100m Relay, Swiss Medley Relay (100m, 200m, 300m and 400m)

Women's - Field (8): High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw, Javelin Throw

Basketball

Basketball 3x3 was played for the first time, where traditional five on five basketball had featured at previous Australian Olympic Festivals. Men's and womens under 18 tournaments involving an 8-team round robin, semi finals and final were played at the Chinese Gardens Forecourt, Darling Harbour and Sydney Boys High School Gymnasium (indoor) on 17–19 January 2013. The competing teams were: Australia (2 teams), China, Great Britain, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, and Guam (representing Combined Oceania).Basketball
