User:Esan hanzi100[edit]

Inappropriate use of user space. Non-English and without benefit to the project. --MZMcBride (talk) 01:11, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Excessive content unrelated to Wikipedia. Policy(WP:NOT) is clear on these things. Chillum 01:13, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Large amount of material not suitable for wikipedia. Used as a webhost. 17-27 August 2007, by the user and some IPs. User has not edited elsewhere. Maybe speediable by a new CSD criterion. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 08:04, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Userspace is not required to directly relate to WP. "Non-English" is not a specic reason for deletion. Appears to be a reference of some sort -- absent a rationale from someone who reads Chinese, it ought not be deleted. Collect (talk) 14:07, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • The page is actually in English. It is original research, see the top it says "by His Holiness Oseodion Aburime I, Pope of the Universal Church on the Holy See of Imhotep the High Priest of Heliopolis, Prince of Peace." see [1]. Enough of it is in English to tell that it is not encyclopedic. Chillum 14:32, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Eh? "伱, 伱, 伱, uwe, 103-392, 103-392, 103-392, 伲, 伲, 伲, ima, 652-588, 652-588, 652-588,

伴, 伴, 伴, ukolu, o-rekhan, rekhan; 779-218, 779-218, 779-218, 伶, 伶, 伶 , ookpa (sese)," does not look all that much like English to me. And "encyclopedic" is not a requirement in userspace. Collect (talk) 15:08, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Having something to do with building an encyclopedia is a requirement for the userspace. From WP:NOT: "Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they may be used only to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia.". You can't just use your userspace to write a new novel or a paper on a word game you have created. Wikipedia is not the place to post something you came up with after school one day. We are not a web hosting company, but a project to build an encyclopedia. The article is basically an English description of a letter/word games using a foreign alphabet. The non-English content is simply lists of things. Chillum 15:16, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, as would have happened if MZMcBridge had just tagged the page with {{prod}}... unless someone has an actual use for the material, rather than a process / policy objection. Mangojuicetalk 19:09, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
PROD is only used with articles; see Wikipedia:Proposed deletion#How it works. --A. B. (talkcontribs) 19:51, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Used to be. Goes to show I should pay more attention. Regardless, I think if no one actually wants it for anything, we might as well delete it. WP:NOT free webspace if nothing else. Mangojuicetalk 20:02, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I also think prod should be allowed for userspace, with the condition that if the user missed the prod that they can contest it after the deletion. Chillum 21:28, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep but blank It seems borderline to me, but blanking would be a better option than deleting. Perhaps a note linking to WP:NOT on the user talk page would be appropriate as well. Raven1977Talk to meMy edits 22:22, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
