I would like to understand why my page stated above was deleted without notice or warning or explanation. 1) It is not self-written, nor a vanity page. Actually I am writing it on behalf of the artist. 2) I have toned down the words after an earlier constructive comment and asked for feedback, and then it was just deleted. I am more than happy to make changes, but think it is unnecessary just to delete like this with no notice.

It took me many hours to draft and now I cannot find it anymore.

Hello.
Why the deletion of marianne dissard when there are a number of other Wikipedia pages that refer to this artist and a sufficient number of consequential press articles and events? Happy to hear from your experience of the platform why this page was qualified as vanity when the subject has proven significant contributions and been influential. Thanks! G11. Unambiguous advertising or promotion

Hello, I don’t agree that List of Parkruns in the United Kingdom falls under G11. If nothing else, this is a long-standing page (if memory serves correctly) that a lot of different people have put effort into. If you would like to delete it, can you please go through AfD? Garuda3 A lot of editors contributing to an article does not disqualify it from speedy deletion. I've looked at it and I agree that it meets the criteria. Now that it has been deleted the proper forum to challenge it is Deletion review. 331dot (talk) 10:02, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting content this way does more harm than good to the encyclopaedia. If I take this to deletion review, there will be a week during which readers searching for Parkrun won’t find what they’re looking for. It can be improved in article space. You’ve broken numerous links and now a reader will see “This page does not exist.” Yes I know you can read the deletion log and find a link to the userfied page, but how many readers will realise that before navigating away? Garuda3, whether it even needs to be is debateable is a bit worrying, even if we ignore the promotional tone, it is largely referenced to the parkrun website, clearly not an independent third party, and it is riddled with in-text external links. If Bastun agrees, either of you can move the text back to article space, given the response here I have no objection to that, but be aware that it might be tagged again, I didn't put the G11 on it Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:06, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bastun, the Parkrun article was even more promotional than the one mentioned above. AfD is mainly a forum for notability, which is not the issue here. Well, you're correct, in that notability isn't an issue - parkrun is an international institution with thousands of weekly events and tens of thousands of participants. If an article is "too promotional" it can be improved. Can you restore the article to my draft/user space, please, so I can see what the issues were prior to deletion? Hi, two of these list were sent to AFD previously and both were kept. Does CSD apply when AFD's have taken place? Desertarun AfDs tend to concentrate on issues other than promotion, usually notability, or, as in this case WP:RS and WP:Directory. I've deleted articles actually at AfD for notability, when G11 was more to the point. In this case, anyway, there have been huge numbers of edits since the AfDs more than four years ago, so I don't think they carry much weight now Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:09, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of United Biomedical Asia under G11

@Jimfbleak: Hi! I noticed that the page I created (United Biomedical Asia) was flagged as promotional by @ M.Ashraf333 and deleted under G11. I first want to note that I have absolutely no affiliation, relationship, or have any WP:Conflicts to this company in any way. One of my interests is healthcare (as my edit and article creation history will show), and especially virology and vaccinology so that is why I created the article. The page was translated from the Chinese Wikipedia article on the same company [1], which has stood since 2021 without issue. While I did make minor changes and incorporated more English langue references, I do not feel that any of the changes were promotional and the page is, for all intents and purposes, just a translated version. I was wondering why the page I created is considered promotional, especially to the extent of being "unambiguous" and qualifying for speedy deletion instead of a traditional AFD, while the one of Chinese Wikipedia (which has similar CSD and G11 guidelines[2]) is not and has stood for several years now? Unprotection for Hyacinth Alia

Hi Jimfbleak, greetings from this end. Reaching out to you because of the above mentioned article as the protecting admin for unprotection because the subject is now an elected governor of Benue State in Nigeria and thus notable. Just to note that I'm not and have never been involved in the factors or reasons that led to the protection, I'm just trying to cover elected officials who have no Wikipedia articles as I've done in my most recent creations and more to come. Speedy deletion of Han Byungho

Hi,

I was reviewing Han Byungho, when you deleted it as a copyright violation. The web site provided as the source of the copyright violation (https://www.famousfix.com/list/chugye-university-for-the-arts-alumni) is a web scraper and copies Wikipedia web content without attribution. The web page also has entries for Moon Chae-won, and Park Hyun-bin which you can easily see are just copied from the lede of their Wikipedia articles. -- Whpq (talk) 13:56, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
