Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Andy Jassy

Reason: Moderate level of IP vandalism - in order to meet the standard of WP:BLP, this page of a living person needs protection. Stephenamills (talk) 04:55, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Other than that burst, there hasn't been any vandalism to this page in a year or so. Daniel Case (talk) 05:17, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Recent protection was set for 2 days, which was not long enough to deter the persistent disruption as demonstrated here and here. I suggested 1-2 weeks initially, but we may need to jump to 3-4 weeks. One of the IP ranges was blocked, and now it's emanating from another. GoneIn60 (talk) 05:27, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

MTV (British and Irish TV channel)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced content and sockpuppetry. LTA from Bulgaria continues restoring unsourced information previously edited by a Vietnamese IP user. WP:LTA/DTHD. --LDM2003 talk to me! 07:08, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sarcophagus of Eshmunazar II

Temporary semi-protection: Avoid disruptive edits. el.ziade (talkallam) 08:16, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Content dispute. Please use the article's talk page or other forms of dispute resolution. Joyous! Noise! 13:55, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Visa requirements for Chinese citizens

Reason: People with unspecified IPs are arguing over editing, including posting inaccurate information. Please protect this page indefinitely. 221.145.47.203 (talk) 08:50, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dunki (film)

Reason: High levels of IP vandalism and persistent non-constructive edits (unsourced, poor grammar). M48SKY (talk) 08:53, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Persistent disruption. Constant addition of primary, very old texts as sources. Southasianhistorian8 (talk) 09:17, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Eagle Broadcasting Corporation

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. LG-Gunther :  Talk  09:26, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2023 Homs drone strike

Reason: Temporary Semi-Protection. Unregistered users making unsourced changes to the number of casualties, diffs: [1], [2]. Ecrusized (talk) 09:54, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Rubin (historian)

Reason: Persistent edits from an anonymous (IP address) user removing sections about Rubin's controversial role in UAE jailing of human rights activist, accusations by the Intercept of Rubin "planting" stories, and his controverisal writings on Ethiopia.

These edits come from IP addresses in the Washington DC area and hotel IPs. (See Talk:Michael_Rubin_(historian))

The edits appear to be by Mr Rubin himself or someone keen to hide his controversies, and violate Wikipedia's "conflict of interest" policy.

Page was previously protected four times, and each time the deletions returned right the protection expired. Protection should be added for the long term. Nemozen (talk) 10:38, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

India at the 2022 Asian Games

Reason: High level of IP vandalism and content removal Magentic Manifestations (talk) 10:54, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Narges Mohammadi

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – As with other Nobel laureates, there are disruptive edits on her nationality not based in sources. IPs cannot decide whether calling Mohammadi Kurdish or Iranian. This should get resolved in a couple of days when more sources appear. ReyHahn (talk) 11:19, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Political career of Donald Trump

Reason: Tons of vandalism, version history is littered with reverts. Things like changing between "best" and "worst" president, etc. Toadspike (talk) 11:20, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Platform (radio station)

Reason: Edit warring. User:McGregorNZ not responding to repeated advice and warnings. Andykatib (talk) 11:24, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

For All the Dogs

Reason: Too much vandalism edits, like this, this, and this. I think a one-week-long page protection would be the right thing to do for this. Thank you! 152.228.175.40 (talk) 15:02, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Canton, Massachusetts

Reason: Repeated vandalism due to ongoing court case in town. Trickycrayon (talk) 15:12, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
