Hey Horologium

In reference to the Ft. Lauderdale article, I think by all means we should get rid of the Bermuda Triangle item. I think you are totally right about it and I do not find it to be anything that would enhance or delfect from the articles viability. It just concerned me because I did not want to get into an edit war from the individual who put it on there to start with. You know how people get about their additions no matter how inappropriate they may be to the article. Junebug52 11:59, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Ft Lauderdale

Did you have an oportunity to look at the last edit I did to the Ft. Lauderdale article? I hope that you are happier with that edit. I simply agree with you on these issues of rambo adds to this article. Hopefully some other editors will come in and help whip that thing into a prize! Junebug52 21:04, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey bud, I did look at the article you created and I will help to work on it when I can get some time. I did place an expand tag on it so that we may attract some other editors to help who may have a little more time. I will try to find more info on her. Junebug52 03:42, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Your Threat and Vandalism

(This charming little missive was left here by a user with some severe POV-pushing issues, who took issue with me deleting an external link which had been deleted on over 40 occasions, from multiple pages, by multiple editors. He apparently doesn't like having a vandalism warning slapped on his user page, and retaliated with this. I'll leave it here because I don't believe in removing warnings, even when frivolously applied. For more on him, see here, here, here, here and here. He has quite the history on Wikipedia. -Horologium )

Stop threatening me, and stop vandalizing my edits. Calling VDARE a "POV site" simply is your way of saying that you hate it politically. I don't see you vandalizing links to socialist sites (like, say, the New York Times).

Report me to your fellow cadrists all you wish. If you think such censorship and intimidation will work, you're nuts. BTW, for readers who wonder what Horologium is so obsessed about censoring, here is the link in question:

70.23.167.160 15:53, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

P.S. You misrepresented your "last warning," so that people will think I had been warned previously, when I had not, and also to make it sound as if you are an administrator, when as far as I can see, you are just another dictatorial, leftist editor. Who the hell are you to be issuing warnings? I could just as well issue you a "final warning" for vandalizing my edits and stalking me!

Oh, and you also lied about the reason for me being blocked previously; it had nothing at all to do with the Duke Rape Hoax, but was political revenge for my having fought against your comrades' censorship campaign to prevent anyone from knowing that 82-year-old Nadine Gordimer was robbed and assaulted by four young black men. 70.23.167.160 16:03, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to 2006 Duke University lacrosse team scandal, you will be blocked from editing.

Do not engage in stalking people and vandalizing their edits, simply because they link to sites towards whom you have political enmity. I no longer need to assume good faith, as you are obviously trying for disruptive editing. 70.23.167.160 16:13, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

(For those who are not familiar with VDARE, take a look at its wikipedia page. To say it is controversial is an understatement. One does not need to be a 'leftist' to be repulsed by its views; in fact, I am quite amused at being described in such a fashion, as someone who has only supported Republican and Libertarian candidates since I was old enough to vote. -Horologium )

Wow!! What a mess Horologium. Looks like you have your hands full here. Not sure as to why this user does not create a screen name as passionate as they are about their editing and viewpoints? Junebug52 11:18, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Acclaimed music

Perhaps you're right, although I think that's fairly obvious on its own since four months have passed from the initial complaints.UberCryxic 21:52, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: Best-selling albums by year (USA)

Well done, it looks much better now - the main reasons I tagged it was because it was unreferenced, poorly written and formatted, and contained lots of off-topic material, and all those problems have gone now. That said, the article in its present state seems to duplicate information already present at Billboard Year-End, so maybe a merge to that article might be a good idea. Extraordinary Machine 20:21, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

What more needs to be done to delete this? Opinion is pretty near unanimous, n'est-ce pas? Deletion needs to be done by admins, no? Are you able to delete this? If not, how do we get it done? Unschool 00:36, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the info. For one who has been editing as long as I have (started Unschool in Sept. of '05, anon many months before that), I know very little about the "behind the set" workings of Wikipedia, other than participating on article talk pages (which I do do a lot). Lately, I've been trying to learn a little, get involved with some cleanup needs, look into RfD debates, etc., but lots of it I don't understand, and man, some of it gets ugly. I listed one article for AfD and was shot down (I didn't follow proper procedure, I was told that I didn't understand notabilty standards, etc.) Anyway, thanks for what you did in listing this—I'll be glad to see it go, and I've got others I'd like to torpedo as well. Unschool 13:38, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

New Cleanup Template

Well I'm just hoping to combine it with what we already have so that it incorporates the small image. Those infoboxes do viewers no good, so there's quite a few of us who are trying to ween templates off of their normal usage. --Notmyhandle 02:20, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey, Horologium, since you like Notmyhandle's icon, why not go to Template talk:Cleanup and leave a supporting note? Thanks! Unschool 14:41, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for getting that awful music article deleted. I didn't have the confidence to nominate myself because when I nominated an even worse article (2000s in American fashion), the AfD discussion resulted—amazingly—in a decision to keep. I just didn't think that such articles could be killed, because everyone and his monkey had put in their two bits, and wouldn't want to see it die.

There are numerous articles of a similar nature, many linked at the bottom of the article 2000s. Feel free to give a hand and getting rid of some of that trash as well. Unschool 23:46, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh, and thanks also for your comments on the small cleanup icon. I am too ignorant to know what needs to be done about this, but hopefully, the many positive comments will help get something going now.Unschool 23:48, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Stalking the Undead

Thanks for the heads up on that review. Looks like it's in hand, but I made my comment anyway. I also went ahead and laid a comment on the 90s music article, which one of the reviewers said he'd put up for AfD. I'm too exhausted now to absorb the issues involved in that other article you're talking about, but you're obviously right about the title. That title should be enough by itself to qualify for speedy delete. Unschool 11:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Lifted an idea

I ran across your little "Where I've been" thing on your user page, and I stole it and modified it for my own page (with a link and credit to you, of course). I hope you don't mind. Horologium talk - contrib 06:44, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

No problem. Many people have been using it for quite some time :) -- Cat chi? 15:39, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Florida Heartland

Map showing counties in Florida Heartland
Map showing counties in Southwest Florida

Hope this is good. Cary Bass demandez 12:50, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

And here's another one of Southwest Florida (thoughts?). Cary Bass demandez 13:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Glad to see both you Horologium and Cary taking this one on. The Heartland map looks good, although if we could do a similiar coloration that you did with the second map (also good), I'm thinking of yellowing up Polk County and maybe the northern part of Collier.
