commonscatinline

Can you help me understand why are you replacing on many pages the already existing and functioning commons category link boxes with "commonscatinline"? Thanks, -- Ooligan (talk) 03:26, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ooligan, replacing the commonscat by the commonscatinline has to do with the fact the external link section is very short or, when it is hanging somehow "lost" (immediately) under the infobox. Hoping this is helpful to you. Cheers. Lotje (talk) 05:20, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Perfumed gloves, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page René Bianchi.

Administrators' newsletter – September 2023

News and updates for administrators from the past month (August 2023).

Guideline and policy news

  • Following an RfC, TFAs will be automatically semi-protected the day before it is on the main page and through the day after.
  • A discussion at WP:VPP about revision deletion and oversight for dead names found that [s]ysops can choose to use revdel if, in their view, it's the right tool for this situation, and they need not default to oversight. But oversight could well be right where there's a particularly high risk to the person. Use your judgment.

Technical news

Arbitration

  • The SmallCat dispute case has closed. As part of the final decision, editors participating in XfD have been reminded to be careful about forming local consensus which may or may not reflect the broader community consensus. Regular closers of XfD forums were also encouraged to note when broader community discussion, or changes to policies and guidelines, would be helpful.

Miscellaneous

  • Tech tip: The "Browse history interactively" banner shown at the top of Special:Diff can be used to easily look through a history, assemble composite diffs, or find out what archive something wound up in.

[Breathing out a light spray of {{cookie}} crumbs as she speaks :] Too late, the evil Darwinbish has stolen your cakes! The cakes made her happy and she'd like to give you a great big hug for leaving them where she could reach them. Spread the WikiLove by giving her more cakes, unless you want her boys to pay you a visit! darwinbish 18:05, 4 November 2023 (UTC).[reply]
