More specific guidance

[edit]

Hi! I've been reviewing your recent editing activity across Wikipedia and noticed a couple trends. You edit quite a few fairly contentious articles and often make moves without discussion. The former is a very normal thing and only requires due caution (see the above notice I added for additional information). The latter, however, is of concern. Most page moves should either occur after discussion on the article's talk page or should be the result of some other consensus-based procedure (See Wikipedia:Moving a page for more info). Unfortunately, the number of unilateral moves on fairly significant pages over repeated warnings means that further unilateral page moves may result in a block. As such, I'd encourage not to move any more pages for at least a few months, when you'll have more experience. You can request that moves be made on your behalf here. ~ Pbritti (talk) 04:05, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Yoshi24517. I noticed that in this edit to Bangladesh, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Online) 20:04, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your concern. However, in order to make such a change, the talk page must agree with a clear consensus. This, however is not provided. Nurusa101 (talk) 20:08, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Nurusa101! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Bangladesh several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Bangladesh, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 20:15, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've been editing under this account for a little over a month, perhaps you're not completely familiar with Wikipedia guidelines? Questioning references is a good thing, but edit warring isn't. The talk page is always a good idea to discuss content and sources. Thanks, and happy editing. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 20:20, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The person is trying to make an edit without consensus. Nurusa101 (talk) 20:21, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I started a discussion at the relevant talk page for you and the other editors to talk it through. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 20:35, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, we were able to work it out! Nurusa101 (talk) 01:59, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page (People's Revolutionary Government (Grenada)). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. ❤HistoryTheorist❤ 04:49, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
