Kovur, ChennaiKovur, Kanchipuram district – All other "Kovur" articles in Kovur are disambiguated by district. Gjs238 (talk) 14:08, 16 September 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. Adumbrativus (talk) 01:25, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose: the other Kovur articles listed at Kovur aren't connected to any town or cities, so the disambiguation qualifier is the district. Because this one is attached to Chennai, the current disambiguation makes sense, because it is more connected to Chennai than the district. Edward-Woodrowtalk 13:54, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose: While other Indian cities lie within their namesake districts (e.g., Coimbatore within Coimbatore district, Bengaluru within Bengaluru Urban district, or Pune within Pune district), the four major Indian metros (viz., Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata) are an exception. While Delhi comes under National Capital Territory (NCT), the other three metro cities of Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata are unique in that their namesake districts lie within these mega cities (in other words, these megalopolises are spread beyond their district boundaries). The megalopolis of Chennai is situated on four districts, viz., Chennai district, Kancheepuram district, Tiruvallur district, and Chengalpattu district. This means, any suburb of Chennai lies in one of these four districts. When it comes to neighbourhoods/suburbs, it's enough if we mention it as a suburb/neighbourhood of Chennai rather than mention the actual district that it lies in (which shall be mentioned in the lead paragraph rather than in the article title). For uniformity's sake, the title of all Chennai suburbs shall be "[Suburb Name], Chennai" (or simply "[Suburb Name]" if there's no disambiguation needed). In this case, "Kovur, Chennai" will do.
