Conventions

All the same conventions apply here as set out under Talk:List of wars of succession#Conventions for the list of wars of succession. It may be useful to read Talk:List of wars of succession#Not a "war of succession" to judge whether a particular war was actually a war of succession or something else, like a princely rebellion. Note especially that the Yugoslav Wars of the 1990s were NOT wars of succession, but of secession, that is, wars of independence. All belligerents were republics or claimed to be republics or their representatives, there was no royal succession involved. Countless otherwise "reliable" sources got this wrong.
