Need some advice

Hi Cheetham,

Regarding Prof. Maria, advice me on where I have not researched. May be we should look for Russian and Belarusian editors. I feel we are loosing merit to these people based on English language only judgments.

I have noticed this in small countries and mostly based on local news and also less media coverage on important people is normalized. Existence Leesaaisath 17:39, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Leesaaisath, unfortunately I don't really know how to help, and don't know how to find Russian or Belarusian editors. Might be worth asking at WP:TEAHOUSE? -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:41, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is a mop reserved in your name

You are a remarkable editor in many ways. You would be a good administrator, in my opinion, and appear to be well qualified. You personify an administrator without tools and have gained my support already!

Maliner (talk) 11:20, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Maliner, thank you for your message and kind words! -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:24, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kj cheetham: When will we be having your RFA? Maliner (talk) 17:26, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I believe Robertsky and others will surely support you. Since your work at RM is greatly appreciated. Isn't it, Robert? Maliner (talk) 17:33, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Take you time. There's no pressure to rush. Cheers! – robertsky (talk) 17:42, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Maliner, thank you for your enthusiasm, but as Robertsky said, there's no rush. :-) -Kj cheetham (talk) 15:22, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't believe we've interacted much, but what I have seen of your work is impressive. Something to think about? Schminnte [talk to me] 21:05, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, you're not an admin? QueenofHearts 21:35, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner, Robertsky, Queen of Hearts, and Schminnte: Thank you all for your comments - I admit certainly something I've thought about a couple of times! -Kj cheetham (talk) 13:02, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • If I haven't already told you my thoughts regarding your fitness for Wikipedia adminship, it's something I certainly meant to have done in past interactions with you that I've known. In fact, I agree with those encouraging you here (in this thread) and firmly believe that you have all the necessary experience and character that makes for a good administrator which currently is sorely in need. If you're agreeably inclined to put your candidacy forth, you will see me, among others, in support of your bid. Not withstanding these aforementioned truths, I thank you for all you have done to build and improve Wikipedia, wish you the best, and hope you know only wellness and joy for all that remains in your journey of life. Sincerely --John Cline (talk)
John Cline Much appreciated! -Kj cheetham (talk) 15:12, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced article drive

Welcome to the drive! There's a lot of uncited Physics articles because people somehow think that calculations/proofs don't need citations :-). Here are some articles that you can start with to ease in:

CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 16:19, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CactiStaccingCrane, I'll see what I can do! Just added my first ref though at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thomas_L._Harris&diff=prev&oldid=1197460195 :-) -Kj cheetham (talk) 16:21, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nice! Oh, and here's one more delightful article that's awaiting a citation: Crown block. :P CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 16:23, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
CactiStaccingCrane Does Safety harness really count as unreffed though? As technically it does have a list of references, just no footnotes (so it had the wrong tag on). -Kj cheetham (talk) 16:37, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really know. You might want to ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Unreferenced articles - CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 16:39, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll fix the tag and add some refs anyway! -Kj cheetham (talk) 16:41, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, just a heads up, things are pretty chaotic right now and the drive has been launched too early by me (see the talk page). Sorry for any inconvenience that it causes. All your contributions are still counted towards the total in the end though, so no worries about that. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 17:14, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for letting me know. To be honest I assumed we weren't counting points yet anyway as it's not February yet, but I won't say no to extra points. :) -Kj cheetham (talk) 18:28, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

GeogSage Thank you for the barnstar, it's appreciated! I'm glad I could help, if only in a small way. -Kj cheetham (talk) 21:26, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

First of all thanks for reviewing my article. I have made changes according to your feedback. If you have time please check and let me know your feedback. I am new in this and love to hear your feedback.

Thank you Employmentadda (talk) 17:45, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Employmentadda, thanks for your message. There are still a lot of external links in the Jiani Zeng article. The issue is external links in the main body of the text, not at the bottom of the article. WP:EXTERNAL has more details on external links, but more importantly you should take a look at WP:REFBEGIN. Normally I'd move it to draftspace whilst you work on it, but I see someone had already tried that before. I've not read all the text, but the whole "Talks" section isn't needed and the "Press Mentions" should be significantly reduced, though items from that may be used as references. You may wish to seek further assistance at WP:TEAHOUSE. I hope this helps! -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:55, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the help with this - and forgive my newbie errors - they were made with only good intention to remove inaccuracies and errors. I will ensure there is much more detailed explanation moving forwards. FHKJ (talk) 10:37, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
