Birth name

If Adams was "Born in San Francisco, California to Leon D. Adams and Laurence G. Girard" as the article says (without citation), why was his last name at birth Dumaris? I found, and added, a citation for his birth name, but I have not found any reference regarding his parents' names. Eddie Blick (talk) 21:57, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
