NAPLPS or Minitel

[edit]

Which technology did the Alex service use? I've always though it was based on the Canadian Telidon (NAPLPS) protocol, but the article states that it was based on the French Teleom Minitel protocol. Jimj wpg (talk) 10:44, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Look familiar?
@Jimj wpg: The image of the terminal is identical to the French Minitel models - especially obvious is the cluster of eight function keys and the numeric keypad on the upper right. See, for instance, the image to the right. I have never heard of it being based on NAPLPS and I know much of the functionality was ported directly from France, so I'm going to remove the reference to NAPLPS.
