[edit]

I have added the section about Talk Radio UK (as the station was named for the entirety of CtG's employment). We need to watch changes to this article carefully. The presenter has attracted many critics in his career, and this article is in danger of either POV or libellous factual inaccuracies. An example: for months, before I edited it, the article defined the presenter as "obscure." This is clear dysphemism. The JPS 00:28, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I have added more to the Talk Radio section. My changes include the addition of his show's co-presenters, etc.--Olaf Legend 09:55, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On the Caesar the Geezer page one of the issues was is he notable? As a presenter on a national radio station with a large audience at the time, he does satisfy the criteria, although there may only be a few online citations as he was broadcasting on Talk Radio 23 years ago.

Practical joke

[edit]

I've changed the practical joke about the asteroid - I can remember (to my embarrassment) standing in my garden at 2AM looking at a full moon while wearing sunglasses! Caesar did claim he'd done a similar wind-up while he was at Invicta, possibly that involved atmospheric entry. Shocked to realise it was ten years ago now! Ah, not just me then! Luckily I just looked out of my bedroom window. I miss those days of TRUK. And the jingles... ("We're on the air now, fifty million listeners can't be wrong..."), and Bogey and Jane The JPS 23:16, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Date of Birth?

[edit]

1966? And he worked with Kenny Everett in 1974??? He was born in '58. Another Caesar wind-up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.44.5.224 (talk) 05:53, 29 June 2008 (UTC) This 1966 date keeps coming back in. We've had 1958, 1956 and 1966. Would be lovely to have a citation. AdventurousMe (talk) 08:45, 30 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Independent article about his conviction gives his age as 40 in October 2011, making his date of birth 1970 or 71. Thryduulf (talk) 03:35, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article was from 1997 not 2011. Mattl (talk) 12:28, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rogers/Ryder

[edit]

While I understand this individual used a range of pseudonyms and had characters, the article switches between referring to him as 'Chris Ryder' and 'Chris Rogers'. I'm unsure which is correct, or if he changed his name at some point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.66.70.7 (talk) 17:01, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

He appears to be currently using the name 'Chris Rogers', possibly as an attempt to distance himself from other areas of the past, but in the absence of any secondary source referring to him as Rogers, I think we should stick with Ryder. AdventurousMe (talk) 03:44, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Weight

[edit]

Has someone mixed up their kilos and pounds? Currently it shows he weighs 240 kilos (that's 534 pounds, nearly 40 stone). That may well be possible, but it's more likely a mistake.

Fraud Case

[edit]

How many times does someone have to go to prison for fraud before it gets a mention on Wikipedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.155.171.74 (talk) 07:14, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How many times do we have to ask that statements about living people are supported by verifiable reliable sources? The JPStalk to me 08:29, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I removed that comment. All sources I found on the web originate from this article. Best to leave it out unless it can be sourced. -Concernedresident's butler OMG! Ponies! 21:02, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How about this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.149.31.231 (talk) 13:18, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well it was reported in the Independent: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/dj-caesar-jailed-for-deception-1248477.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.44.110.199 (talk) 09:21, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have sourced this and reinstated it. I think the default mode with cases like these should be to source, not simply remove, otherwise it does become ridiculous. AdventurousMe (talk) 03:28, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
