Is the Article page being cleansed?

08/2018 - Under the Bunnings section there is a brief bit about the purchase and sale of the UK Homebase DIY stores with a reference to it being divested pointing to the history page on Wesfarmers website. This is poor and perhaps should not be included as it is covered elsewhere on the page with a better link to a BBC News page giving a better picture of events. There are other News site links available such as https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2018/may/25/bunnings-pulls-out-of-britain-after-1bn-plus-disaster . — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.75.227.214 (talk) 10:19, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Pathetic

The wesfarmers main website has hopeless history section - a corporation this big and long in western australian history - and it cannot even do more than two lines! It was lifted for this entry - very poor! SatuSuro 05:59, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Intro should define it

The introduction should define what the company does. After reading the intro, someone who knew nothing about Wesfarmers, or other Australian companies, would not be any wiser as to what the company does.--Lester 02:50, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Employment

Re: "Wesfarmers is the largest private employer in Australia…" An interesting feature of many Wesfarmers' holdings is the lack of staff, rather than the abundance. Bunnings, Officeworks, Coles, etc., all share a similar feature: understaffing in many stores (particularly in the high-visibility checkout area). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.181.103.146 (talk) 03:35, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

When was Wesfarmers involved in the operations of the Cooperative Wheat Pool?

This edit notes the involvement with the Cooperative Wheat Pool. The new sentence is a separate paragraph in the History section, but does not include any indication of the date/year. I suggest that either

  • some indication of when it was involved be added to the new sentence/paragraph

or

  • if the involvement is contemporaneous with the subject of another existing paragraph (all of which have dates or years), move the new sentence into that other existing paragraph

thanks for the scrutiny - the 1920' and the WAFF, Wesf, early versions of CBH and the general co-op movement were as much in the individuals involved in them as the actual bodies - but will endeavour to find either a trove or library sourced item on that one - cheers sats 12:44, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
