[edit]

This article should be revised. Although the bombing incident is important and should not be ignored, Enniskillen has much more to offer than that to offer. The article is neither balanced nor representative. The article should be revised to include something about Enniskillen's history and about its importance to local tourism. Local attractions such as Devinish island should be included. Perhaps you could even explain what its name means! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.156.43.1 (talk) 12:20, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Becketts

[edit]

Are the two Becketts mentioned on the article [age related in any way?--Play Brian Moore 01:11, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so. Samuel Beckett wasn't from Enniskillen, he was just educated there. So it is unlikely. Stu ’Bout ye! 08:21, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Co-ordinates

[edit]

It is a little odd that clicking on the co-ordinates at the head of this article takes one to a Map sources page which leads off with "Great Britain" sources, even though Enniskillen is not in Great Britain, and despite the fact that the page linked to specifically mentions that these GB sources exclude Northern Ireland. -- Picapica (talk) 15:27, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Siege

[edit]

I don't think there was a siege in 1689; there was the Battle of Newtownbutler but that was not part of a siege. I cannot find any reference at [1] and the other 24 pages of the chapter, which certainly would have mentioned it. There seem to have been a major siege or two around 1594[2] and several others.--Rumping (talk) 01:06, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

It would be good to get a few more pictures of Enniskillen on Commons. There are some good pictures of the Castle, but none with a fair picture of the town itself. The best is a slighty fuzzy winter picture "File:Enniskillen from Rossorry 1975.jpg" (before the new bridge was built) and a to centre view File:Enniskillen - geograph.org.uk - 46534.jpg. This is a call to all the amateur photographers of Fermanagh! Hogweard (talk) 09:58, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Military History

Should this really be in the article? "These 2 regiments are still the legacy of the British arrogance to own and control the 6 counties in the north of Ireland, which should be part of the Republic in reality." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.52.252.222 (talk) 11:24, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
