A fact from Harrison Fitch appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 24 February 2021 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that the UConn student body voted 169–7 to fire the basketball coach after he benched Harrison Fitch because a rival team refused to play against an African American?

If we aren't sure as to the year he was born (per the article text), why does the infobox specify 1913? And how can the infobox be exact as to his age at death if his year of birth is unknown? Especially since there is no way he could have been 72 in 1984 if he was born in 1913 as the infobox states? --Khajidha (talk) 12:13, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've edited it a bit to try to address this. However, there seems to be an underlying problem. We have a source that says he was 72 in 1984, but we don't seem to have a citation for the "circa 1913" birth. As it is mathematically impossible for someone born in 1913 to be 72 in 1984, are we sure this shouldn't be "circa 1912"? --Khajidha (talk) 12:39, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Agree, have changed to "c. 1912". Because the Hartford Courant ref #1 states, "Fitch died at 72 on June 11, 1984", he had to be born no later than June 11, 1912. His gravestone also states "1912" (see photo). JGHowes talk16:21, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
