Is this odd

[edit]

Foote provided the voice of Jefferson Davis for Ken Burns' critically acclaimed documentary "The Civil War" (PBS, 1990), Shelbe Foote provided input on this Ken Burn's series. Sounds odd that two people by the name of Foote were both contributors to this program. Someone should confirm this. Mogul456 (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2010 (UTC)mogul456[reply]

Not odd to me. However, you should spell name, Shelby Foote/Foot. Surname from Shelby's family is spelled with or without the "e", according a family source who posted this talk-edit: Avon Edward Foote, Ph.D. The Ohio State University, 1970, and currently Professor Emeritus, University of North Alabama, Florence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:7C0:8103:5CBF:3154:11A2:D224:50BC (talk) 19:25, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV

[edit]

I'm putting a NPOV notice up for this article because it is, particularly in the second half of the text, laced with opinions. If no one else changes it, I will, but later. I'm busy with other things right now and was just looking for some info on The Trip to Bountiful. --Jt 02:33, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd just like to add

[edit]

This may not be neutral b/c the text is just lifted from the Horton Foote Society page word for word.

And may I also interject

[edit]

We are missing his origins as an actor and a whole bunch of information about his involvement with the golden age of live television and his scripts associated with that.

Video interview

[edit]

I posted this career retrospective interview, which I found by following a link from The New York Times's obituary - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLVobIUrGD8 - and a bot reverted it. This is a valuable interview that covers many aspects of Foote's career. Someone else should try to add it to the article. 24.245.42.233 (talk) 01:05, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The bot will then revert it.sinneed (talk)

Son Walter's profession

[edit]

The article lists his son Walter's profession as director, but Mr. Foote's obituary says he is a lawyer. Cortina2 (talk) 03:47, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
