What was Red Rodney's real middle name?[edit]

I have a question about the Red Rodney entry in Wikipedia, [[1]]

The Wikipedia entry states that his middle name was Roland. Other sources, jazz.com, allthatjazz.com, Encyclopedia of Popular Music, etc., say that his real middle name was Rodney, not Roland.

The article cites the Penguin Guide to Jazz as a source of information for his real middle name. Is Roland correct and the other sources wrong or are the other sources correct and the Wikipedia article wrong?
